And he offered Jonjoe a new three year contract, which Jonjoe turned down and got a much better one in Germany.
This may be 100% true. I know it was the story put out. I just have my doubts. Whatever we think of him JJK was a good servant for the club. 'JJK let go by Everton' would not have helped his future employment prospects. I wouldn't be completely surprised if it was a convenient fib put out to help drum up some interest in him. I think people in the club had a lot of goodwill towards JJK, a local lad who'd been here for years. It's not the sort of thing we'd do for Rondon for example. I'm not for a moment saying this is what happened, just a sneaky feeling I have.

I’m Scottish and I’ve been watching Patterson for quite a while. I was on here before stating that I thought that Everton had got a quality player. I even said that I thought that Patterson had the most potential out of all the full backs that we are producing up here. And I included Robertson and Tierney in that statement.
It’s pretty mental, we’ve got at least 4/5 right full backs all looking like they are going to be good/excellent players at a high level, and they’re all around a similar age.
Patterson (my 1st choice for Scotland)
Hickey (can play left & right)
Harrison Ashby (West Ham)
Calvin Ramsay
Adam Devine (Rangers)
That’s just the ones that I know about, there maybe more coming through in the next season or two.
Anyway as I said I’ve always rated Patterson as potentially the best out of all our full backs.
And I’ll tell you as soon as I saw Patterson something was instantly apparent to me, and it’s not something you see often, it’s a rare thing. Patterson has elegance. He’s a very elegant player, that’s what struck me instantly when I first saw him. He glides with the ball.

Loving Patterson so far. Absolutely loving him.

He's got the look of a future captain about him.
Yes I thin he will get better and better but he will have to wait for the captaincy behind Tarkowski,Coady and even Garner, seems he did a lot of bossing with Notts Forest last season, I think it’s time to relieve Pickford of that job, just let him toss up before the start of the match, he won’t know he’s had the job taken off him!!

Yep, agree with all that. I did say "future captain", after all.

Coady or Tarkowski next season, with Garner or Patterson maybe four seasons after that - although I suspect Patterson will stay with us longer than Garner will.

A real leader doesnt need an armband.

Watching Tarks and Coady, they are defo leaders of men and something around their arm wont change that.

As a fellow Scot, it feels like 1990s Scotland all over again.

Quality all over the pitch, except Gordon Durie up front.
