I said that putting on Mykolenko to play as LWB would have been ridiculous given that McNeil was on the pitch and he could do that job better...if that was what we were going to do, which is what a certain poster claimed...which we didn't. We just went to a back 5...

Mykolenko can get up the pitch on occasion to good effect.

You see what happens when you try and be smart Alec?

But he can’t?

Sad to see the weirdos obsessed with Rangers for some bizarre reason and still running amok in this thread. Expecting it to be a busy one over the next couple of weeks with the geriatric out.
Like, it's obvious to everyone that Patterson hasn't played well this season, there's only 3 players who have been decent in our squad this season, the hatred is beyond belief. And that's what it is pure hatred for one of our own.

Honestly, this forum would be miles better if Rangers and Celtix simply didn't exist.

They'll deny it of course, but the obsessed freaks live for that rivalry far more than anything Everton related.

It’s really really weird. The only time either of those clubs even remotely cross my mind is when I come on here and am reminded of them in threads like these.

From frequenting this thread it appears the main defence of Nathan Patterson is that one of his critics on here doesn't like Rangers.

But he can...on occasion.

Have him as a more defensive LWB and play Harrison as a more attacking RWB.

That's a better option than having Patterson ballsing up either a flat back 4 or forcing us into playing a flat back 5.

Hand on heart I can say I hate Rangers.

Hand on heart I can say I hate Celtic.

Hand on heart I don't give two hoots about Scottish Football in general but them 2 clubs are a stain on Scotland and its people.

In one corner you have faux Irish and the other you have the God save the King mob.

As for Patterson he hasn't lived up to the hype and has been poor just like Ashley Young has been. The lad should have been loaned out to a Championship club before the season started.

But as he wasn't loaned it, it makes far more sense to play him and let him learn as opposed to playing a washed up player with no pace at all for his 'experience.'

I mean, pre-season a few here were advocating Keane over Branthwaite for that very reason.

Patterson might improve.

Young definitely won't.

If memory serves me correct Patterson started the season at rightback and Young was playing leftback.

Myko has come in and took his chance and played well.

Patterson will get another chance at the weekend.

It's still so so early in his career. He's stepped up quite a few divisions when we signed him. He's no worse than young but has so much more of an upside/. I remember Dom not being great at first apart from hard working and although he got his chance due to us not signing a striker to replace Rom, he developed and got better year on year.

Patterson needs the same time and patience. That's not to say he should be a be a guaranteed starter by any means, If he's making mistakes constantly like Keane he should probably be benched. He is nowhere near that bad. It's one of those signings, that was probably bought for a few season ahead but has had to learn on the job how tough the Prem is.

Doesn't deserve the hate he gets in here.
