“He should block that cross but he wasn’t at fault for the goal” so he was at fault then
It depends what we mean by at fault like he wasn’t entirely at fault but he could have done better I don’t think any one player was to blame they just didn’t defend it well as a team but he was part of that.

If he stays fit, I think he’ll get better and better this season and some of the views here will look premature.

This forum is proper weird these days. So many years we’ve had players strolling around doing nothing that have had more favourable treatment on here than this lad who always gives his best effort. Just because Dave doesn’t rate him though some think it’s dead edgy to absolutely pile in on Patterson. He had a bad game but Fulham didn’t have a shot on target before their goal.

Watched it on record this morning. Was out.

Why would we loan out our only fit RB.
We obviously can't loan him out, nor should we. But I don't see any real improvement from him since he signed and that's a big problem.

He was extremely poor yesterday, although I do think he is still better than what he showed. The fact he missed such an easy chance didn't help and means people are probably slightly going over the top.

FWIW I think he plays Garner at full back next week, and brings in Danjuma out wide.

He does ok going forward, has a lot of energy. Needs to improve his final ball/finish, which showed when he smashed the crossbar. I think he scores that and we don’t hear from many people on here. He’s raw defensively, but I it’s things you learn as you play and mature, having quiet and clumsy keane by the side of you doesn’t help.

Our midfielders are Onana, Gueye, Doucoure, Garner.

He is the most creative of them by quite a long way.
It's ok people saying he's our most creative MF but there's no substance to it.

Can he give a pass to an Everton player? Yes. Can he deliver a killer defence splitting pass? I'm not seeing it.

IMO he's some way off the potential that Onana has in that respect.

Until Coleman is fit he's our best option at RB and he should be deployed there. Dyche shoving him onto the right but not playing him as a WB or FB was preposterous. He needs to learn that lesson and put it right next time against Villa.

That's unfair. Patterson has been poor since he arrived other than one game: the derby.

No one is capable of persuading a lot of other people against their own judgment that Patterson is not a PL player. He palpably isn't and that's why you see this reaction.
