If we had a better squad could afford to have him gaining experience in the team wouldn’t be as much pressure on him to perform and mistakes would be allowed as it is far too many piles of in the staring 11 and poor bench all these issues add up and show in the last 2 seasons.

Its only a silly idea because we’re not a very competent club and are very negligent. He should of been bought with the idea of him being loaned out for first team experience, but here we’re him starting the last 2 seasons as first choice RB

But he is special, in that league. He’s their captain and he scores and assists at an insane rate for a RB. When was Patterson, at 19, replacing him?

We are his second team, he follows Fuhrer Lucozade FC.

Patterson needs games in the championship, he has potential but if you look at his record he has barely started league games in his career.

I wouldn't disagree. I don't think Patterson is as awful as some are making out, but am I currently comfortable with either? No.

People can’t on the one hand want Everton to have a recruitment policy of developing younger players, and then absolutely berate those players for developing in the first team if they make mistakes.

If there’s a right back in world football that is world class going forward and also world class defensively and has experience then Everton are not going to be able to afford him.

Who is this first choice right back we should buy? At our budget we’d end up with some very average PL right back who might just do a defensive job. There’s very few players in world football who can get up and down the way Evertonians expect their fullbacks to.

We were absolutely blessed with Baines and Coleman but those players don’t come around all the time. We couldn’t afford a modern day Leighton Baines. I remember him making errors as well when he was first in the team.
