Both our goals conceded came from the left-hand side so why again pick on Patterson who did a steady job for the team today - in fact coped with son on that wing easily .....

We gave two softish goals away from the left-hand side - & missed loads of chances ....

Of all the people who've posted negatively about Patterson's performance why again pick on me who's doing a steady job on this thread?

Already discussed this earlier today.

What did you think of the fouls Patterson gave away today? I was disappointed that his naivety gave Spurs the cheap fouls they were playing for.

The thing is I'm not sure he's getting better with games and suspect that playing at too high a level is hampering his development. Granted, he's only in due to our first and second choice RB's being injured but you'd like to think he'd be showing signs of improvement defensively and with his positional awareness.

Whips a cracking cross in tbf, I'd like to see him on the wing when we've got Calvert-Lewin and Beto up top.

Basically this. I really do want him to succeed, I'm convinced there's so much talent there and for me we need to stick with him and put some proper faith in him for a bit, which I don't think he's had so far. Then it's up to him to prove he's worthy.

I do think he's still a bit lightweight, which is on him to sort out.
 
Did well mostly going forwards & showed improvement defensively in a tough assignment.

Not on the same level as the rest of the back 3 currently but encouraging enough.

Keeps the spot for another tough outing.
