Probably because most of the people who don't rate him happen to be one or more of Irish, Religious, a Celtic supporter and related to Dave lol
The issue is the people who don't rate him are off the charts in their criticism and make zero allowances for his age, experience, efforts and never praise him when he does something well, unlike with other players of similar age. It screams agenda, so people wonder why, because it can't be just football related
OK but I'm not Irish, religious or related to Dave and I pay Scottish football no attention at all. I've criticised Onana who is also a 22 year old international who cost a substantial fee and commands considerable wages if you're looking for a comparitor in our squad.
The lazy posters won't debate the points people raise, they'll attack them on a personal level. Don't be like those people.

The vast majority are happy with Patterson and want him to be first choice. He isn't Cafu, but he was better than Pedro Porro, his opposite number today and people are constantly blowing smoke up him.
Any mistake, wayward pass, or missed header and this thread lights up with the usual suspects. It's boring. He's a solid young player and will get better
There's people on this thread loving posts from someone claiming to be Patterson's Nan or something throwing insults at people who don't rate the lad and saying they must be related to Dave. It's dead weird.
You rate him, it's sound that you do and I wish I saw what you see. I see a waste of money when we had no money to waste and a mistake laden performance every time he plays when we're not in a position to make so many mistakes but I do respect your opinion.
What is it with this bloke that seems to generate so much angst and aggression amongst posters? It's weird and intriguing at the same time.

Myko is 24 with 60 games under his belt, Patterson is 22 with 35 appearances.
I don’t know what kind of career either will end up having but if you were to theorize that they are roughly equivalent in raw talent, the difference in current form and effectiveness is consistent with the disparity in experience.
Did well yesterday, they have strength down the flanks and try to stretch play.
Really happy he's getting games, hope he can build some momentum now.

I have no dislike at all for the lad, he seems a nice enough kid and when he plays he always gives 100%, I just don’t think his 100% is enough to be a top level player..there’s no shame in that, there’s hundreds of players in the game who reach a level ..and that’s their level… I don’t know if he will progress and become the player some believe he will, I hope he does but I personally don’t see it in him.
