I've seen nothing to recommend him as a FB that can play in a back 4.

People still saying he's learning, but I see no evidence of it. The same failure to stay alert when danger is about, never proactive and always reacting too late.

He's had Cole, Baines and Coleman to learn from. He's shown no aptitude to defend. The lad on the other side is a far more accomplished player and he's been in the PL just as long as he has.

Give it a rest, it’s just boring now.

You need a new routine.

Fair points re the coaching staff he’s had around him.

I thought Mykolenko had been at the club longer but in any case he has certainly improved a lot and much more than Patterson.

I do think he has the makings of a good full back, he's clearly still learning. Only 22 and doesn't have bags of experience as a starter yet.

I was very surprised when he moved from Rangers so quickly without really making showing too much for them.

Been steady any time he's played for Scotland without setting the heather alight too.

I mean Mykolenko's played literally double Patterson's games for us and was lauded as "worst signing of the last 10 years", "a signing just for charity", "we signed him cuz he's Ukrainian and we pity them" and so on JUST last year lol

Which is crazy considering he had a good run of really solid defensive displays. Despite carrying an injury all season.

He also had Gray ahead of him who never used him when he overlapped.

I’m glad the club pays no heed to the cranks on here because we would have chased out any decent player before they even have a chance.

Some fantastic takes from Dave in last seasons Myko thread. Maybe should have learnt that giving players time can see them settle and become better players. There are more but these are two highlights.


Like I say, good thing the club pays no heed to cranks on here.
