2023/24 Nathan Patterson

It’s a weird tactic which we have done all season. Full backs play pretty much in line with the edge of the box and have to rush out to close down. If the winger plays an early ball, we essentially back Tarks and Branthwaite to win it.

We either allow teams to cross into us, or we allow them to play balls inside the full-backs. We can’t defend both simultaneously.

Dyche has deemed the first easier to deal with that’s all.

Dreadful to watch as well beciase when we do have the ball there's no width. There was a moment in the first half where we had a chance to switch it right but Harrison was 3 yards next to Mcneil on the left wing and Patterson was standing in a centre back position.

Seamus was as well against Villa, but everyone pretends not to notice that. It’s only a problem when it happens to Patterson.

In reality as said, it’s because of the way we play.
You're right they do play narrow.
But he tries to intercept the switch when he'd be better just holding his position.
Mitoma in the 4-1 against Brighton is an obvious example.

All I saw of Nathan Patterson from the highlights was the brilliant ball he played upfield to DCL.
To be honest, I will never be able tell from this thread whether or not the lad had a decent game... such is the bias.
He played well last night, as did the rest of the back 4 and keeper.

Good going forward and defensively sound, even with little to no cover from Harrison and McNeil who both stunk the gaff out.

Your spot on to Ignore this thread for any guide on him mate, the agenda is too strong.

This and the DCL thread, are hands down the maddest threads on the forum right now.

Although the Patterson haters, have been on him since day one, at least Dom has had the benefit of a few purple patches, where they`ve laid off him for a bit.

This threads calmed down a bit once the mods caught one of the wums admitting they were a wum. (And they haven’t been seen since).
