2024/25 Nathan Patterson

A new manager will give him a good shot which would be box office watching @davek 's head fall off

I've said before if he came good Ild be delighted as I put club before position-taking on players. I even came around to Naismith eventually.

But this lad has nothing to offer. Naismith had a football brain of sorts and demonstrated it on a few occasions. Patterson gives me the impression he has no idea where he's wandered off to on a pitch.

It would be a nightmare trying to put him into a defence and keep secure. That's why Dyche will never chance it again. Only as a sub for a sub will Patterson get on the pitch for Everton.

The lad needs football and a new start. The best of luck to him with that.

Is Gilmour at Napoli now?
He is. Mostly because he'd struggle to get into the Brighton team this season.

It sounds great that he is in Napoli and they are title chasing. But it boils down to Conte being their manager. After having managed in England he got a thing for players that had played in England. As they were better prepared to train and play with the intensity he wants. At Inter he signed Young, Darmian and Victor Moses on loan. At Napoli he signed Gilmour and McTominay (while getting rid of Lindstrøm).

Gilmour is OK, will be a squad player at Napoli and there is a reason why he ended up in Italy for a reasonable price. No better than James Garner.

Same posters , same moaning when Lampard tried to get Billy Gilmour here.

Wonder why ?

No where near good enough for us they said.

Yet he went to Brighton & now playing regularly for title chasing Napoli.

Anyways hope Nathan gets a sustained injury free run from now.
With Dyche.....not a chance.
This threads going the same way as the previous 2 seasons threads with DaveK and a poor man’s DaveK focusing all their hatred at a young lad. Both had multiple thread bans over the previous years and here it goes again despite the fact he just put in a decent showing (even if it was only 20mins).

Pack it in with the bigot comments
Pack it in with playing the ref

This reminds me of the House of Commons, where you have Ministers like Johnston who would lie, and lie and lie yet people were never actually allowed to say that he was lying.

You (and Dave, if indeed you are actually different people) fill this thread with lies, negativity and hatred derived only on a dislike of him because of the club he used to play for and possibly the religion you think he is based off that. Yet you cry when people call you out for being the bigot you are.

Keep your comments to Patterson. Not other players nor other posters

He gets 5 or 6/10 most places I've seen player ratings in the media for yesterday's showing. It's quite bizarre how a player turning in these kind of performances evokes such outrage in those defending him. He's a nothing player, a squad filler who is being put in the shop window. He trotted up and down the byline and lumped a few balls aimlessly into the box virtually unnoposed because Forest had shut up shop and parked the bus and still couldn't find the head of one of the several options we'd chucked up front for the last 20 minutes.

He just needs another 74 chances to cement his position in the team.

He will not be with us next season.
He might not make it with us. But imo 23 starts at different times across 3 years indicates he has hardly had a solid run of games for him to develop and claim a place.

He is young, he will make mistakes during games. Like the senior pros make mistakes when they play but are allowed to for some reason.

But we have also made mistakes with a fair few youngsters in recent years (Robinson and Lookman being just two, but also Kean and maybe even Cannon). Maybe allowing them to make mistakes and develop could be better for us.

I'm a huge fan of Billy Gilmour. Would love him here. Like I loved Gough and Weir in their day. Great players and great hearts too.

And Naismith. Was actually one of my favourites of that era. Loved the lad and all his local charity work.

I couldn't give a toss what club anyone played for in Scotland.

He is not even young anymore. He is a seasoned professional from Rangers since a boy and been involved in the Scotland Youth System from a young age.

He just hasn't progressed. All I see is excuses for why he is not a starter for us.
