2024/25 Nathan Patterson

Do you want me to pull up your posts defending rapists?

Patterson is a poor footballer.
You're a danger to children.

Seems to me that its fine to accuse someone of being a peadophile.

Its also fine to accuse someone of being a rapist.

Yet its not fine to actually point out that someone is innocent until proven guilty.

Theres no punishment given to the accuser though.

Quite an interesting parallel here with those posters that hate Patterson but love Coleman.

One being a long serving previously top class player and now a washed up, rallying cry using, international priority contract chaser playing the fans for fools.

The other a player who has previously performed better than him both on the eye and statistically on every single metric.

Neither are probably going to be the future of the club...yet it would be nice to not have the underlying hatred from those who didnt bother to watch the game.

Certainly nothing remotely close to his actual performance seems to be mentioned by certain posters who claim to have watched the match.

He gets 5 or 6/10 most places I've seen player ratings in the media for yesterday's showing. It's quite bizarre how a player turning in these kind of performances evokes such outrage in those defending him. He's a nothing player, a squad filler who is being put in the shop window. He trotted up and down the byline and lumped a few balls aimlessly into the box virtually unnoposed because Forest had shut up shop and parked the bus and still couldn't find the head of one of the several options we'd chucked up front for the last 20 minutes.
5 or 6 out of 10 is double what I'd give most of those no marks masquerading as players yesterday.
All the good work from the 3 previous games undone before our very eyes.
I'm not a massive fan of the lad but he showed us more in those last 20 minutes than Seamus did in the previous 70.

Yeah a lot of players got half of the score Patterson got.

I thought he did OK in some aspects - he interchanged with Lindstrom well, overlapped and gave teammates an option and their defenders something to think about that they don't have from Young much, got lots of practice crossing which although it wasn't often accurate it's hopefully given him some idea of the positions in the box that our attackers take up so it might stand him in better stead if he gets another run out.

Negatives were his inaccurate crosses, his fitness doesn't seem to have improved (for a young player he's blowing out of his backside too much every time he's ran anywhere) and the only defensive action I recall him being required for was when he was the last man back when we had a corner. He completely misread the play and Elanga was away and through on goal with Patterson chasing but not getting near enough to be an issue. Fortunately Pickford was alert but it was either a lack of concentration or very poor reading of the game from Patterson and those are aspects of his game that he doesn't seem able to improve on. I do put a bit of the blame for that situation on Dyche though, he knows Patterson's shortcomings and would have avoided the issue by putting someone else as the defender staying back. Patterson's quite tall for a full back too so I think he could make a nuisance of himself in the oppositions box from set pieces.

Land of make believe with you. Coleman is past it but Patterson has never done anything to be a starter for us.

El Presidente.

That incident at the end was more on Myko than Patterson. Both had drifted too far I agree, but Myko had moved off his man and then fumbled the ball at his feet, meaning Patterson was left in a foot race with one of the fastest players in the league.

Both were too high, but the ball got headed out over Mykos head to the man on the left (being marked by Ndiaye). Myko then had the ball at his feet and just had no control.

Both could have done better. But that also falls on Dyche to call them back if they have gone too high. But at the same time, we were 2 down and trying to box in to keep the ball up there.

Fine to call posters peadophiles i see.

Think you missed the part about not playing the ref.

Thought he put in a decent effort, put a good low cross in just out from penalty area instead of this rubbish the likes Harrison and some have been predictably lobbing in to no affect,

Decent low ball in to Mangala whose shot was poor. Also put a couple in and around the edge of the 6 yard box which got cleared. But more intent than other players on the pitch.

Look where Elanga is starting from and he gets 5 yards ahead of Patterson...carrying the ball.
