2024/25 Nathan Patterson

Patterson is faster than our other FBs bar Dixon who doesn't get a game either
Elanga is fast

Elanga is one of the fastest players in the world you dumpling.

23 year old struggling back into position, head back blowing for tugs - in pursuit of a player who handed him a 10 yard start and then had to run with the ball at his feet...and still got 5 yards ahead of him.

And that's not even to get into the positional naivety of standing with your nose over the opposition's 18 yard box from an Everton corner.

The lad's a disaster zone.

Maybe he's good at curling or shinty.

He'll be starting under the next manager :)

Have you ever seen shinty live? Gotta be fitter than fit and balls of steel to play that game

Do some of you have matches on record so you can rewatch before you blast them on here?

If you do, I’d watch forest again from when Patterson comes on and look at how much positivity he brought to the attacking element of our game.

One thing he did do several times was give and go plus actually made a run into the box when he drove a low ball in.

Can't remember the last time I seen 2 Everton players do a give and go, maybe Mcneil and Iwobi against Palace

Exactly. It is criminal he hasn’t played more. He is one of the many nails in Dyche’s plain, boring, antiquated coffin.

It was so refreshing seeing a FB making it to the byline
like every other PL team's fans get to see regularly

Will be starting RB/RWB under the eventual new manager
I think a manager like Bobby Brown shoes would have played Patterson and given him encouragement to develop. Flip side couldn’t see Bobby giving Myko 100 odd prem league games.

Just been unlucky that Dyche is essentially looking for a wide centre back in his fullbacks and doesn’t want fancy dans who overlap, play give and goes, try to put crosses in from advanced positions. Myko has benefited from Dyche and what he looks for in a fullback, Patterson hasn’t.

Depends on new manager’s style, you’d like to think he’d ask a bit more from his fullbacks than Dyche does.

100%
Based on the fact all top managers utilise FBs in an attacking sense these days and that Dyche is dated af, it is safe to assume that the next manager will be more interested in Patterson. To your same point, Myko will need upgrading definitely.

How to tell me you’ve never been in a 100m sprint race in your life. You honestly have zero idea and it really shows.

Here he is after the Forest game:

“Youngy has just come back in the side and we know Patto is more of a going forward player, advancing down the pitch which I thought he tried to effect doing that. There is one way you can affect it.”

Absolutely hates it doesn’t he, said through gritted teeth. Most defensive manager you’re going to get. He’s got the shackles on our players, bet they can’t wait til he’s gone and has the nerve to come out every game like it’s a mystery why we don’t score or create chances…or look like we have any attacking patterns of play.

I think a lot of managers would have tried him as a right midfielder before now. He's decent at the little scrambles our players in that position have to deal with, and he makes more dangerous runs into the box than any of the other options we have. It'd be worth a go, I reckon.
