2024/25 Nathan Patterson

He was just watched the highlights back and he’s as much a RB as he is a RCB in that game. Seems to fit his narrative as he put it to say he wasn’t.
It depended on when we were in or out of possession. Out of possession, he was more central, with Lindstrom playing RWB. In possession when Lindstrom got forward, he moved to a more conventional RB to try and support more.

As Ive pointed out earlier, both teams focused play down their right hand sides (think each side had 46% of their play down their rights) so most of the game took place there.

I imagine when McNeil is back, if a similar formation is used, we see more play down our left and him being more central through the game. (With Branthwaite stepping more into LB role like JOB was doing at RB).

I mentioned previously that I loved the fluidity of the system and movement of all the players, both defensively and offensively, but for people to state obrien was played as and out and out rb is just wrong.

He was the wcb on the right, of the three cbs, with lindstrom playing as a wide midfielder/rwb, in a very dynamic and fluid formation - anyone who was at the match could see this. That’s where Patterson came on, he wasn’t in the three cbs was he, but you lads keep on pushing the nonsense.

I was in the LG and granted it doesn't give the best view of positions but it sure as hell looked like a back four with JOB at RB and Mykolenko at LB with Lindstrom helping out down the right when we were out of possession. Moyes even said he played JOB out of position at FB didn't he?

Any mention on how shocking young and Keane were when they came on?! No? Strange that, Patterson was miles better than either of them.

Keane was woeful as usual, I think that's widely accepted so not really worthy of comment. I hope he is loaned/sold this window and settles in at a new club, and goes on to have a good final few years of his career somewhere. Like your boy Patto he's taking far too high a wage from our cash strapped club in relation to his role in the squad and the contribution he makes.

Young looked out of sorts, I have commented that he must be weary from carrying the team for the first half of the season. I think his efforts will only be appreciated when he's retired and we look back at these dark, dark seasons and realise what a warrior he was. Playing wherever he was asked, making sure he kept himself at a level of fitness to be available for virtually every game during his time here. Every now and again a team has an unsung hero and he's ours, no doubt about that.

Patterson has a clean slate, Scottish manager and assistant, one of our best ever full backs on the coaching staff, and he's further away from the starting 11 than he was when a manager who supposedly hated him was in charge. Doesn't that tell you he's just not good enough?
