2024/25 Nathan Patterson

In Patto's defense @Eggs, all of our RB's under Dyche have been poor bar maybe Godfrey who left in the summer. Young's performances upticked a bit but only because he received many many more chances than Nate. It's clear Dyche did not like him personally and I'm not surprised he is seeing more opportunities under Moyes
Thought Young's been great this season to be fair.

….that’s an absolute nonsense. The lad has been defensively poor, so to highlight that doesn’t mean there’s an agenda against him. A series of Managers haven’t selected him for a reason, no agenda just reality.

Everybody wants him to be the real deal, but he’s been far from that. Only he can change the situation, no excuses.
I mean it’s not nonsense that even when he does well the same few are in here suggesting he did abysmally. If you can’t see it then I don’t know what to say.

Accurate.

Interesting moyes is trying him out
Always like hearing the argument "4 previous managers haven't taken a like to him", yeah the four worst managers we've ever had and who nearly consigned us to the lower leagues, what a weird defence of a stance taking the same side as those whoppers who managed us. Patterson's far from perfect, his defensive game is poor, but that's not to say there's a player there.

It’s also a lie, as only Dyche didn’t play him. Lampard did. And Benitez was sacked like 2 weeks after he signed for us.

I've said this about Young before. He didn't sign himself, and all we can ask is he honors his contract which he did. I think what Dyche did at the RB position was absolutely cancerous and one of the reasons Moyes took charge. There was zero reason to persist with Young as long as he did considering all the games beforehand that he cost us. That isn't a shot at Young so much as at the recruitment. I do not think Ash was the better option to roll with but I will give him credit where it is due. He has had a solid season.

….i posted last week that i thought he did well when he came on but i can’t talk for others. Maybe he’s better off the bench. I was nervous Lindstrom might give away a penalty and that nervousness continued when he came on but he was fine.

All you can do is judge on what you see regardless of your general opinion. Patterson doesn’t play for a reason but the penny might drop one day. Fingers crossed.

Dyche played him loads, it’s a dead weird myth that. He wasn’t always starting but he played in something like 25 of our first 30 games last season then got dropped at about this time and everyone had a total memory wipe and acted like he’d not kicked a ball all season.
