The Toronto Raptors say hello.

I like the Raptors but without Kawhi I don't see them as a real title threat. I'll give them a chance, but it's only slightly higher than a Lloyd Christmas

Really? Third-best record in the league, top five in terms of man-games lost this season through injury -- not load management -- and one win better through 51 games (37-14) than they were last year. On a 12-game winning streak. But much like the English media overlooks or ignores Everton, the American sports media do the same to the Raptors. And as they found out last season, to their peril. BTW, Toronto went 17-5 last season in Kawhi's load-management absences.
Bottom line is they may not have the marquee star they did last year, but they're much more of a team in terms of their depth. Who you gonna shut down? Lowry? Then VanVleet will kill you. Siakam? Then it'll be Gasol or Ibaka. Add the likes of Norm Powell, who's a very underrated player, Terence Davis, OG Anunoby and Chris Boucher and I'll put the Raptors' depth up against anyone in the league.

I just want to see what they look like in playoff games. They play really hard every night but come playoff time that won't be an advantage anymore. Last year Kawhi closed everything. I'm not really sold that Siakam and/or VanVleet and/or Lowry can pick up that part of it.

Thing is they won't be relying on one guy all the time. The rest of the would-be contenders have only one or two go-to guys, which theoretically makes those teams easier to defend.
It's almost like because the Raptors are based in Canada, the players' skill levels drop by the exchange rate in the eyes of those in the US.

I feel like it's a great trade for the Warriors getting out of Russell's contract for a guy on a way better contract for basically the same production. Especially since Russell was just a stop gap while Klay recovers.

Getting a first round pick in the deal as well which could be a good one sends it over the top. I sorta feel like GSW fleeced Minnesota.

It doesn't work that way in the playoffs though. It always comes down to a guy being able to make shots. It's why the Warriors got KD. It is why LeBron is in the finals for almost a decade straight regardless of who he plays with.

I'm not saying the Raptors aren't great or can't do it or even that every other team in the East doesn't have potentially a similar problem. I just think there are fair questions to ask about Toronto.

OK. We'll see if you get your answers. I think you will.

I like FVV. Not sure who their “Mamba” is though. Kawhi is a stone cold killer. Can Pascal play the same wager? Would love to see another deep run from them but the Bucks and Heat are too good.
