No. And in a different team where we didnt expect him to lead the line he'd have his moments. He contributed well to his previous clubs.
Need to start looking at ourselves a bit more and how we recruit.
What are you talking about?! He's been utterly, utterly useless. The crazy thing is, bad as we have been, we have actually created chances for him (he had two good chances at the weekend) and he's squandered all but one of them. His complete inability to hit bovine buttocks with a banjo is a major reason for why we are where we are. He's terrible, he should never set foot on a pitch in an Everton shirt ever again. He's a disgrace. He'll start against Palace because Dyche is a muppet.

For me yes.

Rondon, Stracqualursi, Tosun or Niasse convert that chance.

Maupay is a CBs dream, can't run, can't finish, can't head a ball - for me is the worst, his goal record proves it anyway.

…says everything about Thelwell’s judgement. TWO windows, a fragile DCL and he spends £15m on Maupay.

For me, Thelwell is guilty of gross negligence & it amazes me that he gets a relatively easy ride. Indeed, one poster on here thinks he’s doing a good job. Frightening to think we’re reliant on him going forward, he’s a fraud.

Yeah he has. Because we bought a player and played him totally how he wasnt played at brighton. Or even brentford. Why did those clubs get something out of him and Everton are getting nothing? This clubs recruitment and due diligence on what we need is atrocious.

He's a bad player, mate. He scored more for other teams because they had better sides, it wasn't because Maupay was good he just had more chances to waste. Loads of people on here pointed out he was a bad player and, yes, the wrong type of player. I do agree that Thelwell, Brands, Walsh and our dimwitted owner and chairman have done everything wrong regarding our recruitment, however. Not signing a forward in January being the latest in a long line of unbelievably negligent decisions.

That was more or less the whole point. You can bet your life brighton wouldnt have bought him and played him like we did.
He started 25 games for brighton last year. Got 8 goals and 7 assists.
He's got 1 goal and zero assists for Everton.
Look closer to home at our recruitment.

Panic buy, get anyone in.

"Keep your powder dry everyone, Everton are seriously lacking strikers, it's bingo roulette time, one of us is about to get a crazy offer for a hideous player" - 19 PL sides August last year.

To be honest I don't follow football that generally and I don't know much about other teams players. But I remember a little while back a few of my mates were saying how good Brighton could be if they ever bought a striker that would convert the chances they create. Lo and behold, Everton spend £15m on this non scoring striker. We're run by idiots.
