Time sometimes plays tricks with your memories. I was in Eindhoven when Holland battered Wales 7-1 and Nev got man of the match.
Glad tonight’s programme confirmed how brilliantly he played that night.
After a train journey back to Amsterdam after the game, fuelled by Holland’s finest product, we laughed and partied all night, singing the praises of big Nev.
The pub we landed in on return to Amsterdam, had the game on replay when we arrived. Despite the brilliance of the Dutch team that night, all the locals joined us in praise of Nev and in singing our big Nev songs.

Nice average documentary - I met the great man & shook his hand on holiday in Llandudno, a true gentleman wrote me an autograph no problem........but I mislaid it on the trip home.,......doh.....
When I was at Primary school (on Anglesey) we had to write a letter to somebody and I wrote one to Neville and sent it to the club. Wasn't expecting a reply but a couple of weeks later I received a hand written letter off him telling me to keep playing football and to make sure that I worked hard at school. He was the best keeper in the world and has always been my hero. Still got the letter and still cherish it. Legend ?
