Yep

it looks quite small there!

Well that's it isn't it. You are comparing Everton to teams who play in the Champions League on a regular basis so their crest is far more recognizable. Like it or not, the Everton crest is unknown to many outside the UK. This is the reason for putting the name Everton inside the crest.

Well first of all im not sure thats completely true about it not being known abroad.

But lets say you are right, what does the new "Everton" do to change anything? Now all these foreigners will just think, oh that crap badge belongs to Everton. Its not going to make people buy our shirt or invest money in the club.

If we're lucky they might 'refine' the design for next year. Surely that won't actually be it for 10+ years.

Daft thing is mate, we are the ONLY people they have to appeal to! Its not like M&S or Next launching a new clothing range is it? I can understand them wanting to perhaps update the badge, (wasnt that keen on the old one TBH), but, blimey. I am in business, and have to deliver solutions to dozens of different clients. I would love it if they all wanted the same from me, FFS!

Yup, and they could have stated the reasons for needing to do it just like they have done, after the fact. You know what I find probably the most amazing about it is that social media has been summarily abused for marketing purposes and gauging opinion because of the broad base, ease of use and cost effectiveness. So here's an opportunity to use it in a really constructive way and ... nothing.

They will have to change it next season, if the sales are low tho. Maybe get the fans involved next time.

If they actually had a clue they would change it, it's simply too damaging long term to have a poor logo. But then if they had a clue they wouldn't have allowed this situation to develop in the first place. It's a nightmare scenario.

Not at all. They're not going to make 10 years of stock in one go.

They bring out new stuff every year. The aim should be to get them to change the badge to something people actually like in time for the 2014/2015 season.

Wtf is with the yellow though seriously? Even on the previous crest. Why isn't it just a white outline?!

A kid could tell that would look better. Awful designing.

So here's a story.

Showed my old man the new badge. As some of you know he's an Ipswich fan. A few years ago they changed badge. I say a few, about 30! Either way, he hated their new one. It had a horse on it for no apparent reason. Anyway, he grew to like it.

However, the very first thing he said when he saw our new badge, 'is there a petition to get rid of this?' He just didnt understand it. Like many of us.

So he's signed the petition too.
