All absolutely gutted to a man to see him go. Must be because he played such dire football though...
Of course they’re going to be gutted to see him go. He’s overseen the most successful era of the club most of them have EVER seen.

Which got them to more or less the same place we are currently at. With a hell of a backing from the owners to boot.

There’s absolutely no evidence to say that he can perform beyond that level. Which we as a club, need to be looking for. Otherwise, honestly, what’s the point?

This just isn't true, at all.

We were primed to move into this summer with a clear list of targets to fill the holes to allow us to kick on.. Ancelotti knew the score. The biggest disappointment was not our form or where we were heading.. it was the fact that Ancelotti himself decided to just swerve us anyway.

We're effectively hitting the reset button again and NES will absolutely not get us playing any better than Ancelotti last season, or getting us nearly as many positive results. You can vault me on that.
A good old fashioned vault-off. Deal.

I truly believe that the average standard of our football last season was the worst I've seen since Walter Smith. Our final league position flattered us.

No doubt that Ancelotti knew the squad was crap and had ideas about who would fill the positions needed, I'm just not convinced that his signings would've been long-term investments. Allan and James, for all their qualities, are about as short-term as it gets.

Anyway, we'll be league champions by November. You can double-vault me on that.

No. It makes more sense to organise an insurrection against him, quickly and effectively , and get him out by October.
So if it’s another manager appointed you just change the name on the insurrection against him? Well I can see that saves a lot of time at least.

Had a quick look through the 'Nuno' thread and it's unbelievable. We have fans ripping into 'our new Manager', who hasn't even signed for us, whilst at the same time hero-worshipping a Manager who got us to tenth in the League then walked out on the Club.

Towards the end of last season our form was bad, and so were our results, but Carlo Ancelotti wasn't to blame, the players were. I have a feeling that if Nuno does take over, and we carry that same bad form into the first few games of next season, it will suddenly be the Manager who is to blame, probably for not motivating the players etc.

I've said it before and I'm saying it again... this place is a madhouse :D
If one of modern footballs most successful managers can't garner any respect from this lot what chance as a tin pot Portuguese version got - the only hope is a massive purge of deadwood which we all know ain't happening so we're pretty much screwed.

Can you point me in the direction of them please?

Even if that's true, he owns the club ffs. Naive to think he shouldn't be having a big say in who the manager is, rightly or wrongly.

Sky, BBC, Mail and pretty much every other news outlet all reporting it. I think history suggests he should be rubber stamping the DoF’s preferred choice rather than appointing them himself

We had our trophy manager and only finished 10th and then he just upped and left. Played well sometimes and badly other times but overall it was poor . I think Nuno is a good fit for us and I am happy with this and wish him well .
Great post. Need to support our new manager. Carlo didn’t want to be here that’s obvious. Also the football was up there of the worst I’ve seen for 10 years. He could surprise us and take us to next level, he could be average and we finish mid table, and could be a disaster and find us towards the bottom. That’s the beauty and ugly side of football. The main priority is recruitment get young hungry players in. Godfrey, DCL players who want to make a name and be successful. If brands and Mendez can work together with there network we could be in for an interesting summer.

So your on the fence then...
Sport is an entertainment business, this is the most uninspiring managerial hire since BFS - it is an acceptance of what we are and a hope to continue being just that a mid table team waiting for a new ground and avoiding relegation. He won't take us down but he will certainly not move us up. Get ready to fight Leeds, Wolves, Aston Villa and maybe even Brighton for the seventh place trophy next few years

So if it’s another manager appointed you just change the name on the insurrection against him? Well I can see that saves a lot of time at least.

No if it is Galtier or Ancelotti again we will be singing his name from the highest point to save the Highlight Slave Revisionists from themselves.

If it is Nuno we go in hard and early.

Because both teams are mid table and they’re good enough to be playing in Europe?
And both teams underperformed for whatever reason and the players are better than their final positions show. You forget that the Premier League is the best and most competitive league in the world. Everton, despite finishing 10th, are amongst the 20 richest football clubs in the world. We would be seen as a step up from Wolves and up until 6 months ago Nuno was looked upon as one of the best young managers around.

We have the basis of a vey good team but it's all about balance. 3/4 players will give us that balance. Hopefully Nuno will be the one to mould us into a team.
