Good post. I wanted the split fan base potter. I love his approach to good football.
But im certainly not anti nuno. Few little alarm bells like one key injury and it seemed to collapse. Losing jota aswell. Thats two big hits.
But his management career isnt that shabby. Not a huge fan of the football but hey ho.
Plus i dont think he'll suffer a few at this club who have took the right p!ss in the past few years.
Not excited by it. But def get behind him.
Doherty sold as well.

Please see the post above. Anyone would have looked good against us with that lineup and in that form.

When posters wanted to bash Ancelotti there was nothing wrong with these players.

Now when its time to bash Nuno they’re suddenly terrible and therefore his good performance against us is invalidated?

I get why some might be a bit underwhelmed but honestly the negativity on their forum since the start of this season has been something else, and I’m not even a particularly positive poster. Nuno hasn’t even been confirmed yet and the amount of moaning and revisionism is unbelievable.

24 signings in total.

Niasse Mcgeady Kone Alcaraz Tarashaj Stanek Leandro Rodriguez, Sam Byrne, Etoo, Robles, Cleverley, Galloway, Funes Mori, Bassalou Sambou, Lennon, Henen, Hunt, Foulds - 19 players who were either complete toilet or offered nothing to Everton.

Lukaku, Barry, McCarthy, Deulofeu, Holgate - 5 players who were successes for him but that’s stretching it tbh for the last four names even though I like all of them. Barry and McCarthy had one good season for us then McCarthy got injured and Barry fell off a cliff. Deulofeu and Holgate were/are hot and cold.

If he hadn’t have bought Lukaku he’d be up there with Koeman as the worst manager in Everton history for transfers. Even with Lukaku, part of the reason the squad is in the state it is today is because Martinez gutted it completely replacing decent players from Moyes squad such as Fellaini Naismith Jelavic Oviedo Distin Osman Pienaar with complete and utter pap.
Fellaini was gone no matter who came in to replace Moyes.

And are we seriously going to put Naismith, Osman, Jelavic, Distin, etc on a pedestal? Sure, they contributed their share for a time, but were hardly star players and many were well past it.

I won't pretend RM blew anyone away with his transfers. The criticism is fair. But we also have to remember that after Lukaku, he was given very little money to work with at a time when transfer fees were well on the rise. Not an all-forgiving excuse, considering Moyes had little money to work with as well, but I would argue the money spent on the players we brought in since Moshiri came in have sent us back further than Martinez ever did.

Martinez was left a decent squad that was well balanced with a good blend of experienced pros (Distin, Jags, Howard, Baines, Pienaar Osman), players in their prime (Mirallas Naismith Coleman Heitinga Jelavic Fellaini Oviedo), and young players (Stones, Barkley)

By the time he was finished we had a completely unbalanced squad of players too old and a few younger players with hardly any Key players in their primes. There was barely any value in the squad outside of Stones Barkley and Lukaku, and so he started us off on the road to ruin which Koeman then took into hyperdrive.

I’m not saying those players Moyes left were world beaters but they were solid pros which put them along way ahead of the dross like Alcaraz Mcgeady Kone etc. which Martinez brought in.

We were 9th when they beat us and finished 8th. Not a lot changed aside from Digne coming in to LB.

We also went unbeaten in all our remaining home games except one.

It was a great performance. Can only beat what's in front of you.
While I was happy to correct the misremembered score line, I agree with you, it was a dominant performance.
Bloody miss those, sure as hell didn’t see them season just gone bar about 2.
Sincerely hope you get that years vintage of Nuno
