Can someone please explain why you even are saying the name "Benitez" even half joking? He's been shown up by Steve fn Bruce. Putting aside his absolutely classless comments he's absolutely finished as a manager at this point.

Actually, at the time Martinez was a one off cup winning relegated manager rather than a sought after international coach.

We took a punt and it didn’t work out, largely.

72 points: I said it when he was sacked 5 years ago - no Everton manager would get near 72 points for a decade. I'll extend that prediction by another 5 years.

Ancelotti will be flying to Madrid shaking his head and still wondering how this club got 72 points in a season.

It's about looking at the game deeper than just the result.

So we look at Brighton and the style he plays and we bring him here he doesn't get the results and the pressure comes on? That's the issue Everton is a pressure job yet we do need a rebuilder and a coach to stay for at least two or three seasons. I don't have the answer but I'm dubious Potter has proved he can do it yet.
