Aren't Brighton the xg champions or something? If Potter could teach our squad how to pass we could do alright. Our squad is a lot better than Brighton's.

This is a crucial appointment in the lead up to the new stadium. I want to see someone chosen because of how they fit and their ideas for the future of this team not what they might have won elsewhere (with insanely better squads). It’s time for Brands to put his foot down and align his ideas with a manager of the same ilk otherwise just walk away.

Our squad is imbalanced but not terrible and a few key additions with smart, simple coaching will have us around the 6th-8th place next season. It’s not where we aspire to be but it’s where we need to get to next, we then build on that.

I don’t believe Leeds overall squad is better than ours but they work harder, they work better, and they have a solid base now. They can go out this Summer and strengthen a couple of key areas whilst we don’t even know what formation we’ll play and the player profiles we need.

Massive few months coming up for us.

Yes but how does that make Potter's case? He could get us playing good football but can he progress us?

We need someone who will buy into our long term vision who is ambitious themselves.

Potter has demonstrated that he can do that at two teams. One in the PL.

Aside from Rodgers or Poch, I'm not seeing many others.

No manager is ever a perfect candidate but you need to analyse what they can bring to the table, back them to commit to the job and allow them to grow.

We can not be in this position in twelve months time.

Shouts of Conte etc; they want it now. We haven't got the resources to give them that yet.

One comment resonated with me that Carlo said. He said he needs players for the here and now.

Were not in a position do that. Our foundations are too thin.

18 months ago “we aren’t getting Carlo ffs”

All the top clubs had managers and he was available, liked the project after a rough final season at Napoli. Was perfect timing.

Conte just won a Serie A title and left cos there's a firesale to balance the books.

He nowhere near ready to enter the world of pain that is Everton football club.

That's not to say we can't ask....but he's never ever gonna come here. Ever. Especially when Spurs need a manager.
