I’m not open-minded and heaven forbid, I’d say I’m also a forgiving person.

Rafael would be a solid appointment. I believe he’d win over the fans, get the financial backing he’d need, connect well with the squad and is tactically sound.

Joyce apparently.

All a bit eerily familiar though. As I think I said with Nuno if this progresses over the next 24 hours it will obviously happen, but if it drags much beyond that, I'm not sure it gets done. If I didn't know any better I would say they are seeing fan reaction and panicking a bit.
Had the same thought. This smacks of Moshiri sort of testing out fan reaction.

It’s the same pattern as what happened last week, where all of a sudden out of nowhere all these stories start popping up about Nuno basically being done. Queue significant fan backlash online, we back out?, then things just go dead quiet again for days.

Now all of a sudden stories coming out left and right about Benitez. Queue even more significant fan reaction. I’d imagine if this doesn’t actually get done by, say, tomorrow, then things are likely to go quiet again and somebody else pops up early next week for another round.

Don't underestimate how much Benitez' team will be keen to release news...

Desperate for the gig.

Talksport is an easy tail to wag. Others second guess.

Not very committal though is it? He's hopeful of the job. We know that. The other day the same journo was expecting Nuno Santo to get it.

He was one of the journos briefed by Nuno's team, but hasn't been briefed by Rafael's.

'tis all politics; one thing that can be said for sure is something has spooked the club regarding Nuno. Whether it's the entourage or the relationship with Mendes, who knows.

This due to the Waiters RS connections?

Personally don't see it being anything different to when Ablett, Beardsley, and Sheedy went from Red to Blue.

But if you mean him as a manager... different ball game.
Both to be honest we haven’t ever appointed someone who has openly previously dismissed us in such a way allied to having no recent credentials to take the Job on! Shocking
