Hope this is not true, picking managers on fans reaction. God help us all if that was true.
I too hope it’s not true, but feels like Moshiri has shown a tendency to be a bit flakey at times, so I wouldn’t put it past him.

Of course it could be that both Nuno and Benitez had the same idea to just leak things from their side to try to pressure the club to make a move?

Hunter never said it was on, in fairness.

Everton will hold further talks with Nuno Espírito Santo this weekend that could conclude with the former Wolves manager being appointed as Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement.

COULD
Yes, he knows nothing. He's following the herd.

You can't be thinking that this is the answer? No recent pedigree and a history of belittling our team…nah

None of the candidates have great recent history and he has by far the best overall career. The belittling of the team I can take as I expect a manager of a rival team to do that, just like he would be forced to say nice things about us IF he became manager.

I don't want Rafael but I also don't want anyone else on that list. So whoever they pick because they think they will get the best results is fine by me. If he comes it will be for 2 years or less, if he gets more it will be because he has won something and if anyone won't take that then I'm afraid they are more anti-RS than pro-Everton.

I don't get to decide who manages us and if we start protesting and trying to force someone out then we'll end up with someone like Steve Kean and relegation. The new Everton way should be 'what would Everton do, then do the opposite'.

He was one of the journos briefed by Nuno's team, but hasn't been briefed by Rafael's.

'tis all politics; one thing that can be said for sure is something has spooked the club regarding Nuno. Whether it's the entourage or the relationship with Mendes, who knows.
When you factor in the cost of getting rid of the current staff, Nuno will cost a lot of money to employ , maybe the club ,as Palace seem to have done dont think it's worth it financially?

Players and managers are slightly different. A player can change fans opinions very easily. As a manager takes time to achieve anything they will come under pressure as soon as they lose a game or two. Sheedy and Ablett were non entities at Liverpool really and Beardsley won us over by being pure class.

By the same token Rodgers would be more palatable to Benitez because he does not have the same link with the RS. He was there for a couple of years and done most of his good work elsewhere. He hasn't had any crap plays made about him etc either.

So it's the same but different levels?

Rodgers almost won them their first premiership. Rafael won them the champions league.

Seems to be more about the levels of success then. Ablet and Sheedy never made it at the RS so was acceptable. Beardsley was a great player so we weren't arsed.

I get that the cult adore him...but like someone else mentioned on here we'd all accept if Klopp decided to randomly manage us one day.
