To be honest I don’t think it
Matters who gets the job. They all would be gone inside 2 years. The squad is a mess and it will take a good few more windows and seasons to get the dross off the books.

It also comes down to the board, until Moshiri rips it up and he stops medaling also. I can’t see much changing.

Conte was the best out there, but I don’t think it would have been a good appointment. Because he wouild probably have jumped after 12months.

I wouid have liked to see us, take a chance on a Galtier, Hen tag. even potter. Maybe the club tried for these and got turned down, I feel these wouid have at least got more time from the fan base.

As for the rest, Nuno, Howe, Moyes, Martinez. I actually wouid take Rafael. As I will think he will shake things up a bit, Moshiri wouid have promised him funds. So what ever happens I expect the squad to be in a much better place when he goes.

But there will still be that question about Moshiri and the board. Getting better more ruthless people in to run the club. And hopefully letting Brands to finally do his job. A big if going off the last 5 years

I certainly didn't see this coming,.
I just thought the appointment would be too controversial for it to get to the appointment stage.

My concern is not that he is ex Liverpool manager.
I don't care that in frustration after a game he called us a small club.......and in spite of how he has tried to change his word's since then one look at his face in that interview would tell you what he meant.

My concern is about if he is still a good enough manager role get us to where we want to be ?

I would say however that he seems to be a difficult man, a focused man and someone who doesn't suffer fools gladly.

If appointed I do think we will see players work in a very different way,
I think kissing the badge may not be enough to show commitment and I feel some of our players may feel quite uncomfortable about this manager....if appointed.

There would of course be the delicious irony that a Liverpool legend restores Everton to the top table of football.

I'm not bothered that he's a former red or made those comments it's more that he's done bugger all the last few years, bruce did a better job at newcastle and it didn't go well in the mighty Chinese league for him either.
Has Bruce done a better job? He spent 3x more money than Benitez.

Why would they feel uncomfortable. Maybe in the past when we had multiple Evertonians in the team but not now. All just here for a pay cheque and im not sure any care about Benitez past.

The thing is, his recent record of management shows no indication he’s got it in him to do that.

If we were hiring Brendan Rodgers off the back of winning everything repeatedly in Scotland and then making a good Leicester team even better, developing young players and winning the FA Cup we wouldn’t give a damn that he once managed the RS, we’d be happy to have a very good manager coming in.

I don’t think Benitez is the man to take us forward and it’ll feel even worse when every time he fails we get the extra little digs from our loveable neighbours about ‘Agent Benitez’.

This is the most sensible post in this thread so far
Please stop it and post some nonsense

Talkshyte are reporting his contract is 1 million a month, equating to a huge pay off at Christmas !!

….I’d find this quite alarming if true. As far as Benitez is concerned, surely Everton hold the aces in the negotiation and shouldn’t pander to excessive demands. Take it or leave it.

Benitez needs us more than we need him.
