Not sure, I think we need an experienced manager to help sort out the mess we're in. Whilst some might see him being detached from the players as a bad thing I don't. We've tried everything in terms of management style to get the likes of Siggurdson to perform. Benitez would come in and pick the team based on performance in each position and wouldn't care about upsetting senior players. He isn't the best option but he's better than Nuno or Howe.
Exactly this
Our squad does not need a friendly arm around the shoulder
It needs a kick up the arse
He is one of the few who will do just that

Even Crystal Palace are more ambitious than us, looking to Speak with Favre, while we're scraping the barrel with Benitez. :(

Ha. They also brought in De Bore who wanted Scott Dan to play like Beckenbauer and never won a game before being sacked.

If Favre was the dude he'd get a bigger job than Palace who have 50% of their squad out of contract next month

So premier league fixtures have been released for next season, Premier League teams are making waves in the transfer market with their purchases, Squads are preparing for the pre-season, and Everton is still trying to appoint a manager.

Wow, we are just so dumb.

We are looking at players, and being linked with some who have pace, which is a refreshing change. In some ways not having a manager might help, as Brands can crack on with his policy of signing young fast players before the next bloke comes in and demands we sign a 30 year old player who can't run.

There’s been about 3 transfers made and no squad is preparing for pre-season; they’re all on holiday/Euros. Chill out.

I keep seeing posters saying his recent premier league experience was not good enough
Let’s put some perspective on his Newcastle side
He was loyal enough to remain with them in a drop to the Championship
He got them promoted first attempt ... a rare feat
He kept them up as a mid-table team and stabilised them there with zero input or support from his board
He left on principle after receiving no support from his board
The team he left was stead mid table mediocrity but they were premier league steady which given lack of funds and support was impressive ..
He won the notorious deluded Newcastle fans over big time
Before that in interim role at Chelsea he took 3rd in the League and won the Europa
Looking back at our run of managers since Moyes the only real stayer was Martinez .... the others were always looking at stepping up through us .... except BFS whom I have blocked from my memory
Give him budget
Give him support of the board
He is a stubborn stayer.... and putting his Red connections to one side I think a good choice
He will stay
He will make tough squad decisions
We will improve. I’m in
Ok haters hit me
None of that will happen. If anything he’s closer to an Ancelotti type who will hang around for a while picking up his wage before leaving/being fired.

Logs on.....

Hundreds of fresh pages.....

Root cause? A gobby host of a second rate COMMERCIAL radio station who also has links to Sky, and therefore Sky Bet. (thanks for the free money lads!)

Banking on the fact he knows Moshiri to give his claims substance.

"But look at the odds!“

If odds are your barometer then you clearly have no idea how the bookie always wins. (if you want to use odds as a reference, the shortest price on Koeman up until the day before he was confirmed was 20-1)

I have no doubt Benitez has been discussed, maybe even interviewed.

I have no doubt that of all the candidates he is the one that wants it to most.

Everybody just needs to calm down.

It is very VERY unlikely to be Benitez.

What a pathetic, stomach turning, no morals assessment of the situation.
You have clearly lost the plot.

I had a dream last night that I was invited to Benitez’s unveiling. When he came in the room, one person clapped twice and then stopped when they realised no one else was clapping.

I was sat behind Marcel Brands, who was confidently manspread across three chairs (as is probably his way). At the end, he turned round and started talking to me in riddles, I think he was trying to say “not my choice,” in some sort of code.

But then I noticed his mouth was bleeding, and interrupted his soliloquy to let him know. He rushed out holding a tissue to his mouth - by which point he’d turned into Paul Pogba.

Take from that what you will.

Wow, we are just so dumb.
Thus is the most naive post I’ve seen in a long time
We lost our manager at the start of this month in totally unexpected circumstances
That is another major manager disturbance in a very short space of time
To rush out abd hire the first guy in the frame is dumb
To select several good candidates and do the due diligence and run three rounds of interviews is sensible
In all honesty getting a quality manager in before the end of this month ... before the end of the euros is good quality governance ftom the club
The DoF has his shopping list created by him and the last manager .... this will be discussed and modified with the incoming in plenty of time to make changes to the squad and prepare a good preseason
They are doing fine

The thing is, his recent record of management shows no indication he’s got it in him to do that.

If we were hiring Brendan Rodgers off the back of winning everything repeatedly in Scotland and then making a good Leicester team even better, developing young players and winning the FA Cup we wouldn’t give a damn that he once managed the RS, we’d be happy to have a very good manager coming in.

I don’t think Benitez is the man to take us forward and it’ll feel even worse when every time he fails we get the extra little digs from our loveable neighbours about ‘Agent Benitez’.
Exactly, I don't think we should rush into this.

1) pretty much every reliable journalist is running the story
2) for the 7000th time, Sky and SkyBet ARE NOT LINKED
