sorry but he's not even surpassed the Moyes era much less the 95 cup. perhaps once the new stadium is built but I'm extremely underwhelmed by his stewardship of the club.
As I said:
Not really, Carlo, James, Bramley moore, hundreds of millions in funds, the Liver building, Sponsorships, USM etc

We SHOULD be laughing, we have been very unlucky with the outcome of some of his appointments, appointments that went on to manage Real Madrid, and Barcelona

Having a go at Mosh is madness

Nuno got the Mendes boys. In no other circumstance Joao Moutinho and Diogo Jota of all people will drop into the championship.
Benitez had a negative net spend, lost an entire spine, signed some questionable players (and given Newcastle's history Dwight Gale might be an Ashley signing) and still got promoted in the first try.

Getting newcastle promoted is not a plus for me for the case of him getting the Everton job.
I also couldnt stand his interviews when at newcastle. Any game they won was because he was a genius getting a tune out of the team. Any game they lost. Its down to mike ashley.
He's fell out with so many boards at clubs he's been at.
Never warmed to him. Find him egotistical and arrogant. And the bottom line being i dont actualy think he will do anything here either. Real possibility it will be just another waste of time and we'll be looking again in 18 months

13 Reasons Why We Need Rafael As Our Manager

1. A proven winner - Has won more Champions League Trophies than Everton.
2. An eye for talent - we've admired many of the players he's signed for years.
3. An end of 'The People's Club' - A prudent signing that shows we mean business.
4. Speaks Spanish, will be able to tell James Rodriguez to do one in his native tongue.
5. Understands what a Midfield is - may bring this wisdom with him.
6. Lives locally - good for reducing the carbon footprint of club.
7. Shows Kenwright has no say over managers any more.
8. Won the Championship - will be able to get something out of our Championship quality players.
9. Hates Sam Allardyce - a common enemy among us all.
10. A hard man to please - our mollycoddled squad will be in for a shock!
11. Potentially the man to get rid of David Unsworth.
12. Understands the importance of caring about a club, left Newcastle because Mike Ashley is a bloated weirdo.
13. Husky body type serves as body positivity role model to fans.

i know clutching at straws, but would Gattuso be worth a call now he is leaving Fiorentina ? Him and Dunc would be a mean bunch lol

edit: reading now he is leaving because Mendes wanted to bring 2 players he is representing there, Fiorentina refused. Maybe the reason we are not going with Nuno...?

OK chaps.

Will today be the day when the new manager will be announced. Will we all ( well 98% of us) be crushed and disappointed ?

Or will we continue the roller coaster of highs and mostly lows based on any random tweet?

Ultimately we can do absolutely nothing to influence a decision that means so much to us .

The result is a feeling of impotence , now I now why numan was created.

I continue to have a feeling of impending doom , a doom that can only be lifted by a positive appointment , Christophe Galtier, Lucien Favre , Ten Hag but we know that's not going to happen.

We search years for a billionaire to pump money into the club only to find the only one who knows absolutely nothing about football and is seemingly happy to throw hundreds of millions down the drain.

I suspect it will always be this way for Evertonians.

Modern football doesn't really require a manager. The DoF have a vision on how football is played, and targets players and coaches that fits this philosophy. The Manager, more properly named head coach nowadays, is responsible for its implementation on the pitch. If everyone is on the same page and they have a distinct way of playing, they don't even need to wait for a head coach to train or to do any business, as all parts should be somehow interchangeable and capable of deputizing each other.
It's Brands we are talking about...I agree with you though. However I don't see any business done anytime soon. Probably busier trying to offload players anyhow at this stage.

I'm more concerned that he's been on a downward trajectory for a few years and clearly got his pipe and slippers out going to China. Just don't see it as an inspired choice but I'm also a bit perplexed at who can sort us out.

To be fair I’m not sure going to manage a team in China when you’re 60 is an easy gig. Leaving your family thousands of miles away.

He only left because of the pandemic and the team not being able to invest in the squad to become one of the best teams in China, which was the idea of the “project”.

I agree , he's a bit of a nutjob getting involved with all of us in the first place . He's doing his best as I'm sure he wants some of his cash back otherwise his best bud won't be happy .
His only downfall is he lets Bill's old carcass roam the halls talking about the how he once blew Dixie a kiss .
