i know clutching at straws, but would Gattuso be worth a call now he is leaving Fiorentina ? Him and Dunc would be a mean bunch lol

edit: reading now he is leaving there becasue Mendes wanted to bring 2 players he is representing there, Fiorentina refused. Maybe the reason we are not going with Nuno...?
Of course not, he is rubbish
Same huge problem as Nuno, thats Mendes

13 Reasons Why We Need Rafael As Our Manager

1. A proven winner - Has won more Champions League Trophies than Everton.
2. An eye for talent - we've admired many of the players he's signed for years.
3. An end of 'The People's Club' - A prudent signing that shows we mean business.
4. Speaks Spanish, will be able to tell James Rodriguez to do one in his native tongue.
5. Understands what a Midfield is - may bring this wisdom with him.
6. Lives locally - good for reducing the carbon footprint of club.
7. Shows Kenwright has no say over managers any more.
8. Won the Championship - will be able to get something out of our Championship quality players.
9. Hates Sam Allardyce - a common enemy among us all.
10. A hard man to please - our mollycoddled squad will be in for a shock!
11. Potentially the man to get rid of David Unsworth.
12. Understands the importance of caring about a club, left Newcastle because Mike Ashley is a bloated weirdo.
13. Husky body type serves as body positivity role model to fans.
7 and 9 give him SOME brownie points but for the rest of it , I'd rather live in ignorance.

I agree , he's a bit of a nutjob getting involved with all of us in the first place . He's doing his best as I'm sure he wants some of his cash back otherwise his best bud won't be happy .
His only downfall is he lets Bill's old carcass roam the halls talking about the how he once blew Dixie a kiss .
Honestly, we sound like spoiled kids having a go at Mosh. We didnt have a pot to piss in for 30 years, this guy pumps money in and we question his ambition.

Sad

Nuno got the Mendes boys. In no other circumstance Joao Moutinho and Diogo Jota of all people will drop into the championship.
Benitez had a negative net spend, lost an entire spine, signed some questionable players (and given Newcastle's history Dwight Gale might be an Ashley signing) and still got promoted in the first try.

Promoted at first try? The man spent £150m while at Newcastle. With that sort of money to spend, of course they were getting promoted. And net spend? Only kopites care about net spend. He wasted money. Entire spine? They sold Sissoko (who most newcastle fans were happy to see the back of) and wijinaldum. Most of the others were past it or left on the cheap.

What about Dunc ?
Can people start realizing that Dunc is now a turn-off for other managers? No new manager would like to have an old guard breathing down your neck, and tolerate players resorting to route one football when managers lost the dressing room (and hence competes for its control).

In short he is becoming a liability.

He either should convince the board that he can take the club to next level, or he should find some alternative employment at another club until he can convince the board, if he really loves the club.

You don’t hire managers based on what the fans think.

Otherwise we’d have Ferguson managing us and would be bottom by Christmas.

Moshiri brought Big Sam to the club in 2017 when the fans were in uproar.

He will do what he wants and not care what we think.

As for Ferguson, think he would go down the route of how Unsworth went when he was in charge for a while. Everyone was saying he should be given a chance at the job and he failed in the minor attempt he had.

What annoys me a lot about this Benitez stuff is, no disrespect to Palace etc etc, but it seems like they've not even contemplated the THOUGHT of hiring Benitez, yet here we are, a Club that's vastly richer and has higher aims than them are thinking about doing it? Likewise, Spurs, they have similar aims to EFC, well at least you do. Surely our aim is CL Footy like theirs? Yet, don't see them being impressed by Rafael do you?!

If his last few jobs had been decent id be sound with it. You're going back to Napoli, arguably Chelsea days to find his last "decent" job, that was almost 10yrs ago them. He's a has been and an embarrassment of a Manager now.
