Taking a manager on because of what Newcastle fans think whilst ignoring our own fans opinions?

What madness is this? I'm proper exasperated here.
well, there's that (to rebut charges that he's gone off the boil), and, er, oh yes the champions league finals, the championships in Spain, the Europa Cup win, the cups in Italy....

Discounting him because he is RS ex manager is exactly RS behaviour
I said ages ago this would be divisive a 'k...and here we are, all arguing amongst ourselves...calling me a rs for shame.
nothing new in us arguing tbh,
But about the FSW ffs!
I'm over it
You think what you like,
I'll think what I like
And Moshiri will do wtf he wants and there's nothing we can do anyway.
Peace Brother

Nobody has mentioned his time at Newcastle which was deeply underwhelming and he fell out with the dof there, with our club it would be a minefield. Everyone just seems to be thinking back to his time over the road but that was a very long time ago and he was able to spend hundreds of millions...
He could have won every trophy going in the last couple of seasons, if a huge portion of the fans didn't want him then he shouldn't be appointed.

I keep reading stuff like "Oh it's a business", or "He owns the club" all true but the business that he owns customers are the fans. Imagine a business going massively against what the customers want and alienating them. "You wanted bread? Tough, we only sell lamps now" utterly baffling.

So Rodgers would be more accepted because he threw a title away and was otherwise a flop and Rafael not because he won a CL and an FA Cup?

Would you not rather have a winner than a loser?

remember the side he put out there got smashed for the first 45 minutes, it was only their luck that got them out of it

There are other good candidates besides Rafael Benitez but I would urge us to get over this jibe he made (and guess what, we were acting like a small cloob the way Moyes set us up in those big away games). All he did was pander to the LFC fan base nothing much more than that.

The problem here is that too many people are obsessing over Liverpool instead of loving Everton.
Wrong. Most of us just think he’s a boring manager who’s best days are a good decade behind him.

Hi mate, can you tell what teams he has done this with in the last decade?
Won UEFA Cup, Coppa Italia, Super Coppaitaliana and The Championship.

Defending Rafael Benitez is not a hill I’m willing to die on but…..he’s won 2 major trophies (top 5 league trophy or European title) and 2 minor trophies in the last 10 years. If he’d won much more he wouldn’t really be interested in the job. Think Carlo was the outlier here.

He’s also won more than most of the other sensible candidates (I.e. not the likes of Conte or Simeone). Galtier is probably the only candidate with more recent success.

Like I said Benitez is the wrong candidate. Nothing to do with ability or his character. It would just be a divisive decision due to his previous managerial positions. A decisive appointment is not needed.
