…..think some managers are ‘safe’ and low risk, some are ‘progressive’ with higher risk. From a strategic perspective, having somebody progressive would be good to build us a team to be proud of but it looks like we’re going safe.
It’s just chaos really. What is the strategy?

Can't handle all this revisionism about BFS and Silva on here. We wanted Silva before BFS but couldn't get him. fireman Sam came in and did a job, the football was exasperating and he behaved like a woman's front bottom! Silva was a tactical breath of fresh air but as always a risk, and one that did not pan out. That last Facht does not make BFS any better.
We went from dour football and utter boredom to an exciting possibility to move forward - Everton need a coach to move them forward now, not one to take them backwards. If you want to break the top 6 and win stuff don't hire a manager who was last successful over a decade ago.

He wont though will he? And even if he did he was theirs before he was ours. Even if it was to work out perfectly (it wont) even our moments of glory will be tainted.

I am not against appointing him because of my own personal feelings on the matter, I am against it because of the majority of supporters opinions as they do matter because without the fans on his side he is doomed. I don't see why that is even being debated? It is just how it is.

Nonsense that mate - if you are sat in the away end at Anfield after beating Liverpool in the derby or at Wembley winning a cup final and your first thought is "doesn't feel right this the manager is an ex red" then you may as well give up on football as the whole point is winning things/beating your local rivals.

City didnt seem arsed signing Tevez from Utd for example, Bruce managed Sunderland now manages Newcastle etc football is a job these days thats the reality, gone are the days of managers lasting 10+ years at one club or local lads being loyal.

Its why i support Everton FC and not the manager/players - people moan at me when I call DCL bambi or I questioned Ancelotti's tinkering/results yet why should I give 100% support to them when they will bugger off at the first flash of ankle (as we've seen with Carlo).

if it's winning football, noone will care.

No, you wont care. You are not the majority.

We have seen a similar scenario with Spurs and George Graham. He did win stuff, he was still hounded out and never fully accepted by the fans.

There is zero indication that we will win with him anyway. He is a decent manager, he is hardly Rinus Michels either though. Certainly not a cant miss prospect.

Same kind of who fan who creams themselves over their club being involved in the super league get excited and positive over Benitez appointment.

Yeah pretty much.

What a time to be alive though. We have gone from making a big stand against the ESL to our manager who said it was a disgrace leaving to go to one of these "big clubs" and now being linked with a manager who looks down his nose at these non big clubs.

Brilliant.

He waited until last three days of window to demand a move, because he knew the club was over a barrel and his new employers, MUFC, would not have to pay big for him. He is a snide rat.

What?

So a young lad who was a boyhood blue, living his dream, who came out a few weeks earlier saying how much he's a blue. Devised a scheme to screw over the club in order to get a move to man United. Even though Chelsea had offered £50m to buy him a few weeks earlier and he would of made more money at chelsea and so would his agent.

Or our joke of a chairman was told months earlier he needed to sell him but he ignored it telling everyone "it'll be fine darling!" Then when the debt collectors came calling he panicked and ended up selling him for sod all.

You decide what you want to believe ill choose the thing that suits the M.O. of how our club has been run ever since kenwright has gotten his claws into it.

The media reporting of both Rafael and Nuno has been a bit odd. In both cases, we've had a pretty emphatic report that they're about to sign, then nothing.
