I've absolutly no idea who we should get, who will fit us, or who will do well.

Do we actually have a proper 'Director of football' system, or a manager system ??
I noticed that on the radio this morning Dom King was calling him the Sporting Director rather than DoF.

No point going for someone like conte or we'll be back in this position when one of the big jobs comes available again.
If people are going to continually talk about how we are "a big club, " shouldn't we start acting like it? Honestly, I think people hear that and just laugh. They laugh because there has been nothing in the past 12+ years to suggest that we are. And that's only if you are simply considering year in year out premier league performance. When you start throwing the word "trophies" around, well that topic certainly muddies the water a bit. We are not the club we used to be. But look at City in those same 12 years. And look at Spurs. Whether you think he is worth the adulation or not, Pochettino is a big time commodity. And maybe he's just angling for a better contract with PSG, but it looks increasingly like he wants to go back to Spurs!!! That is what a world class facility and world class players like Harry Kane do to a club. It absolutely SUCKS that we are seemingly right back at square one again. But we will continue to flounder if we don't start to behave like a big club rather than just say we are a big club. With the prospect of a brand new, world class facility on the horizon; a top manager could absolutely find themselves in a position where they would want to stay instead of bolting for the usual suspects. A great deal of you on this forum have already said that IF we had secured European football for next year, Carlo might have considered sticking around. And we were close to securing Europe, even with the team we fielded. West Ham did! Carlo leaving us in the lurch feels terrible, but seeing the glimpses of what COULD be were so, SO much better than just waiting for the next hammer to fall in the neverending cycle of mediocrity we are so accustomed to.

Favre is 63 and aside from managing in two respectable leagues in France and Germany what has he actually achieved ?

Id rather we went for young and hungry with sucess like Gallardo or Amorim.

Not sure if potter had the scouts roaming around or Dan Ashworth their DOF.

That would be rancid.

Not sure how we can compare both managers success there...then with their ages...

Theres some dreadful names...

100%
Dan Ashworth is a big part of the setup at Brighton and he has a huge network of people around him. Brighton have a really small budget to work from so it's the only way for them to recruit, very much like the Brentford system.

Dont know why people listen to the media did the Daily Express have someone sat in the board meeting to know these names were being discussed or are they just making lies up for clickbait?

Sports Journalism is the worst people getting paid to literally write lies.
Indeed...just like political journalism. lol

Moyes and Roberto are not going to be re-employed.

Rangnick looks very 2013.

Nuno looks too far down the line with Palace and maybe wants London.

Howe is yesterday's man already. The new Curbishley.

Dyche is never getting it.

Fonseca and Gallardo are the type of hack BS shouts that never usually come off.

If Benitez hadn't made the small club crack he might have been a contender.

If Gerrard wasn't Gerard he might have been a decent speculative appointment.

Ten Hag turned Spurs down so I dont see him coming here.

I'd be interviewing:

Lampard and Favre.
