I'm not against this at all, but isn't Rangnick more of a DOF himself? How would the dynamic work with him as a manager and Brands above him?

Bit of a hybrid role - helped coach at Leipzig when they were building into the force they now are. He's a hybrid for sure, which should only be a good thing working alongside Brands.

Honestly he'd by my number 1, I didn't think we'd be able to convince him but who knows.

To a point but I think Carlo held more weight to bring in players than Silva, so brands was always gonna work with him in some capacity different to Silva

We are in that same issue now, talk of Moshiri wanting a big name, other names are older british names, and then some younger foerign names.

Who knows mate, its not like all the names linked are of the same profile / style.

Untill all those making decisions are all on the same page, we wll be having these same debates every 18 months or so.

Nuno would be decent I think, he done well with Wolves but they had a few injury problems and they sold Jota. I would be very disappointed if we go for Eddie Howe. In my opinion he is a little bit of an overrated manager. The media would have you believe that he took a plucky little Bournemouth from League Two to The Premier League without a dime. However, the reality is Bournemouth and Eddie Howe were bankrolled by a Russian businessman and they had the largest budget in the EFL and broke F.F.P rules to get promoted. When he had a spell away from Bournemouth he done nothing. I think he would be sacked within a year.

I really hope Moshiri has learned from this. The big name managers like Ancelotti, Conte and Mourinho are only ever at a club for the short term. We aren’t ready to compete for titles and I don’t think they are the sorts of appointments that will work if there is a risk they will walk when a major team calls them.

Simeone is the one exception in that I think he would be brilliant for us but it’s totally unrealistic.

Yes agreed, you wold hope he learns.

If you want to appoint a big older name, we need to back him massively, and we cant / could not do that.

He got top 4 with a transfer ban and Kepa in nets.

It only went wrong for him when they ripped up the blueprint and signed a lot of new players.

There are better options out there but he's far from the worst shout. He's the style of manager we need - someone to build a squad over time and give chances to younger players. There are no shortcuts for us here and we can't sign James & Allen's anymore. We need something more sustainable.
What merits does Lampard have as a coach or tactician? He walks into jobs (Derby and Chelsea) based on his name and subsequently fails at them
