And there you have it.....we're a "small club" are we?
Thank Christ I was lucky to see 3 title winning teams...even Gordon Lee was far better than some of the last few Garbage managers we have had to endure.
FW will be the ultimate nail in the EFC coffin.
"FSW" has more pedigree than any manger we've appointed since Kendall, bar Carlo.
Literally no-one we've appointed has done anything like what Benitez has done in the game. Every kopite I've spoken to can't believe we're getting him, they rate him that highly.

But somehow us knowledgeable blues with all our trophies and success over the last 26 years know much better than everyone else.

I reiterate yet again - he's not who I'd choose to manage the club - mainly because it's clearly an incredibly divisive appointment and it's just not worth the mess it's going to cause.

But to suggest that Benitez doesn't have the quality or pedigree to manage Everton is a bit of joke tbh.

We lost £14m on Klaassen in about 6 months
And currently Newcastle are losing circa £10m on a £10m player...

We want to get away from these crap signings and Rafael doesn't fill me with confidence that we will.

Aside from the crap signings, he plays turgid crap football that the fans will hate and get on his back for very quickly. This will be a disaster and i give it 6-12 months before we piss more money up the wall sacking another manager

just because you loathe Benitez and would have literally anybody else, that's not a good argument for booting him. he might be the best candidate?
Eh? How can he possibly be the best candidate? Never heard such nonsense in my life. The only way this club moves forwards is with a reset. We need a style of play and progressive thought. This is like appointing Dyche or Allardyce- only Benitez won some pots years ago. It is a chronic lack of ambition and vision.

We are run by absolute amateurs who probably know as much about football as the Glazers or John W. Henry. Difference is, those owners don't believe that they know loads about football. Ours think they know it all. Laughable.

I'm actually disgusted looking online. So many of our supporters are just making comments like 'we have to get behind him', 'I just want to win etc. Ped from Toffee TV talking like it's fine to tread water for 3 years until the stadium is built and them we are miraculously going to become a powerhouse.

I'm sorry, but this attitude from our fans is why we never achieve anything. A mild winge, but then we have to pull together. The fans of top clubs do not accept mediocrity. We do. We don't want to rock the boat. We're not like that, Evertonians are different. It's why we are unlikely to ever win anything again. Because low standards are ingrained in our club and have been since the end of the 80s. Fans clamour for management teams of players like Ferguson, Cahill and Stubbs (who have won one trophy between them, 26 years ago) because they 'get the club'. Because they know what it means to run around a bit, say the right things but never achieve.

No matter how unhappy people say they are here, it will take one signing and almost everyone will be on board. When Benitez first walks out onto the pitch, the Gwladys Street will give him a cheer. Because that's what we are as a club and that's what has led us to this point.

We are about to appoint a manager who is known for his dire, defensive football. Annoys people at every club he goes to, is awful in the transfer market, hasn't done anything of note for years. What he did do heavily coloured by the fact he had Steven Gerrard damn near single-handedly win him two cup finals the best part of 20 years ago - and even then they were both penalty shootouts so could easily have gone either way.

And the best thing about our fanbase is that they will direct more abuse to people expressing opinions like mine than they will to the ownership.or management teams who are destroying the club.

I just hold on to the increasingly slim hope that there is someone else in the pipeline.

I think the lad from Toffee TV was trying to guess what the owners line of thinking is rather than that being his own view. I maybe wrong of course.

To win the league with us (the last league title he won was in 2004, by the way) obviously. It's definitely, definitely not for the £18m. That sort of money has never convinced anyone to risk some short term happiness. :hayee:
Where has £18m come from?!
We paid £11m to Carlo and Benitez was on £6-7m at Newcastle.

Imagine for a moment, that at least half the match going blues do not react as you predict. I think most Evertonians realise that we've got big problems with that squad, so I think he will get a grace period, maybe not as long as somebody else.
Also, he's an excellent manager. What about the spirit he develops inhis sides. Istanbul, that Newcastle side coming from two down against us to win, that's not luck, he builds strong sides.
Yeah, because Peo and Klopp are definitely going to China like all "great managers" do.

He isn't the best candidate though is he? Plays awful football, hasn't done anything of note for about 8 years, went to China for a retirement fund and now wants a job around the corner from his house so that he can phone it in for 3 years and get paid handsomely for. We need somebody who wants to bring in a style of play and give us something to get behind, this is not an appointment fans can get behind.

His last league title was in 2004, let's not pretend he's some sort of current super manager. Being more successful than Koeman, Silva, Martinez and Allardyce is a pretty low bar.

I'll be interested to see the footy he plays. Certainly at Newcastle it wasn't good but from what I've heard from Liverpool fans it wasn't turgid when he was there. And his record at other clubs doesn't seem to suggest it either.

Yep - point taken. Nevertheless he has double figures of trophies to his name in a period when our great club has won zero. I think that probably makes him a little better qualified than most managers out there.

Well he has a major platform as one of the main Everton fan channels. He should be using it to condemn that way of thinking, not just meekly accepting of it.

Again we as a fanbase need to change our attitude sharply.

It’s at the point that this is so boring that I can’t believe you lot can be bothered fuming anymore.

The club just need to announce someone so whoever it is the fans can get over it and move the fk on.
