I'm actually disgusted looking online. So many of our supporters are just making comments like 'we have to get behind him', 'I just want to win etc. Ped from Toffee TV talking like it's fine to tread water for 3 years until the stadium is built and them we are miraculously going to become a powerhouse.

I'm sorry, but this attitude from our fans is why we never achieve anything. A mild winge, but then we have to pull together. The fans of top clubs do not accept mediocrity. We do. We don't want to rock the boat. We're not like that, Evertonians are different. It's why we are unlikely to ever win anything again. Because low standards are ingrained in our club and have been since the end of the 80s. Fans clamour for management teams of players like Ferguson, Cahill and Stubbs (who have won one trophy between them, 26 years ago) because they 'get the club'. Because they know what it means to run around a bit, say the right things but never achieve.

No matter how unhappy people say they are here, it will take one signing and almost everyone will be on board. When Benitez first walks out onto the pitch, the Gwladys Street will give him a cheer. Because that's what we are as a club and that's what has led us to this point.

We are about to appoint a manager who is known for his dire, defensive football. Annoys people at every club he goes to, is awful in the transfer market, hasn't done anything of note for years. What he did do heavily coloured by the fact he had Steven Gerrard damn near single-handedly win him two cup finals the best part of 20 years ago - and even then they were both penalty shootouts so could easily have gone either way.

And the best thing about our fanbase is that they will direct more abuse to people expressing opinions like mine than they will to the ownership.or management teams who are destroying the club.

I just hold on to the increasingly slim hope that there is someone else in the pipeline.

If he was any good he would not be on loan would he ffs .
I was joking mate. Hence the smiley

Look - as I say - I'm not saying he's a great player. Just that if you're holding him up to be some sort of unmitigated disaster of a signing, I don't think he's all that bad. Certainly not when you compare him to a Klaassen, Sandro or Iwobi

He was a terrible signing. We made them too.
But don't try and defend it sayin it wasn't.

I know. Which I think is a total shame and could be the undoing of us.

I say again - I don't want him - he's well down my list.
But the fume about him is massively overblown, misplaced and mainly driven by petty bitterness which frankly I think is starting to eat the club alive.

We'll never get out of that lot's shadow when we act so small
And there you have it.....we're a "small club" are we?
Thank Christ I was lucky to see 3 title winning teams...even Gordon Lee was far better than some of the last few Garbage managers we have had to endure.
FW will be the ultimate nail in the EFC coffin.

Again, using your argument. We recouped money back on loaning out Bolasie, We also recouped money selling Klaassen. Only one you originally mentioned who we haven't is Gylfi, who is still part of the first team squad
We lost £14m on Klaassen in about 6 months

Wait till you hear the clubs spin on this.

Rafael is just like Covid , horrible beastly virus . But we'll have to learn to live with it.

just because you loathe Benitez and would have literally anybody else, that's not a good argument for booting him. he might be the best candidate?
