Top of the league. James bossing it. Spirit of the Blues videos all over the gaff..

Fast forward a few months and we’ve lost the lot.

No pride in being an Evertonian anymore. You really going to cheer Benitez at Goodison against Southampton ? Would be hilarious if we went 2 nil down and the cameras focused on Moshiri and Kenwright.

The club is cursed. Toxic.
Correct

For the young bhoys Lukaku is the only world class player we've seen mate.

It was an absolute pleasure watching the bloke - nothing better than having a genuine elite level striker leading the line.
I’m 32 so I’ve not been called young for a while but Lukaku, James, an aging Southall and Kanchelskis are the only world class players I’ve ever seen, and I haven’t even got to see James live

That's a lot of wrong in one post

I mean this is just a small snippet of how wrong this knobhead is about just about everything he comments on. Reading his posts also suggests that he wanks himself off hourly to images of Benitez, the defence he mounts for him is quite something. If only his mum had showed the same stern defence against his dad we wouldn't have to read this bollocks.

Wait - you loved Lukaku? Seriously? 90% of his time with us he was either sulking, moaning or standing with his arms folded on the halfway line. He scored goals for sure and for that I admired him of course. He was great at that bit - but the rest turned me off completely. I've never heard another Blue say they loved Lukaku -especially not now after the event.
I loved him as a player for us . Best we had in years.

The only possible silver lining is that Usmanov wants him

If he comes out of the shadows to properly throw his (financial) weight around, we should progress regardless of who is manager

Yup - if he is responsible for appointing Benitez - he'd better get his cheque book out and bring in some quality players.

Bloody shame he was wrong about Benitez to Hammers.

That could have been superb viewing had that gone pear shaped.

Reluctantly coming to the conclusion that our board will never sort this club out
I was hoping their mistakes they would learn from. I’m afraid we will not move forward until the ground is built and club is sold
Poor manger after poor manager appointment is proof of their incompetence.
Now the fan base is at each other’s throats. Never felt this bad for a long time. Whether we agree or not with the manager choice is one thing but the toxic vibes is another.
hope I’m wrong like

Considering Ancelotti was appointed by Usmanov I agree.

I only really believe Usmanov started to get more involved with us from when he left Arsenal - he did that Forbes interview saying he would like to get involved with EFC if Moshiri asks him then weeks later he meets with Ancelotti and we appoint him...

My suspicions have always been Usmanov was always involved but it would take him time to get out of his agreements with Arsenal, so had to be quite cautious initially. Conversely I also don't think he will ever become more involved than he is,I don't think he wants the scrutiny or accountability that comes from being the public face.

I do not know of a single business that would allow someone who is a sponsor to meet and have input in a decision to make a major appointment before the decision is made. Sure they may get to spend an afternoon with someone as a perk- but before they are appointed it's not a perk, and oddly I don't think he's ever really met someone after they're appointed (which would be more typical).

I know it's not certain, but in all likelihood it will be that he is the one with the (substantial) cash, he is the one funding it, and he will have the "grown up" chat with the manager before appointment.

I'll be honest, I don't think Brands has a significant say in it at all. He might have hoped to be able to give a shortlist of 2-3 to Moshiri/Usmanov but I doubt that's even happened. It seems like Mendes has given him Nuno's name and potentially Moshiri/Kenwright have given them Benitez's name.

All this 4-5 meeting stuff makes me think he is meeting the different parts of the process- so probably the Chairman, Moshiri, Usnamov and Brands.

Just out of curiosity and to increase my current state of somewhat mild arousal - IF Benitez gets the job what would he need to do out of the following to get you personally on side with him?

1. Win a trophy
2. Qualify for Europe
3. Win a Goodison Derby
4. Win a Anfield Derby
5. None of the above
