I mean in fairness Dave they seemed to turn on Allardyce after the fans turned.

To be honest theyve turned on most managers when the fans have turned, Martinez, Koeman, Allardyce, Silva etc. They just go quiet, offer no support to the manager and act in the fans anger.

In that context I'm not sure you can blame fans for thinking they can make it ungovernable for Benitez and force a change.

I mean whatever we all think of the above managers, and I doubt theres a single person who would like all 4, they were all let down by a process and a board above them who are too cowardly to stick themselves in the firing line.

So rightly or wrongly, its completely understandable people will think they can bounce Benitez out quickly.
They reacted to the players, not the fans. The fans' attitude is governed by results. If the playing staff (and probably coaching staff) make it plain they wont work with the manager then that's the point Moshiri makes the flight to Liverpool and bins a manager.

I genuinely don't get it. It's the fundamental lack of principles or self-respect this very small pocket of Benitez appeasers seem to have. It is absolutely right for people to turn round and say "wait no hang on this and Allardyce are disgusting appointments, wtf is going on".
The same people get walked all over all their lives.

Your judging his whole character off one comment.
Which is quite narrow minded.
Your kidding yourself if you think your prepared to give him a chance.

I'm not doing that at all. I'm doing it off his ongoing behaviour, and that he has not properly addressed the comment in about 15 years. That's not a single mistake, it's an ongoing mistake, alongside many other character flaws he has. He is divisive wherever he goes and manipulates people.

He treated a lot of LFC staff very very badly mate. People who had given a lot of time to their club, just tossed aside by him without a 2nd thought.

However if he does well with us, I will be big enough to acknowledge it. After Ancelotti, I'm not going all in on any managers. Let's see how he does and take it from there? He has 6 really easy games to start, so I'm expecting him to start strongly. Let's hope he can manage that at least.

They're kids...at least I hope they are.

FFS we all hate this situation, but take a look around: the world is in turmoil. Rafael 'kin Benitez is the least of my worries. If he screws up before Christmas I'll be demanding his dismissal. But until then, what can we do?
Indeed....Alexander De piffle in charge of the country is more scary than the fsw as manager..

Isnt it up to Benitez to turn that sentiment round then by winning the winnable games? If he cant do that, he only has himself to blame.

The difficult part of this is your laying all of it at benitez door.

We may lose a match because of Pickford error or missed penalty.

Its upto the players as a group to work with the management to deliver results.

Your giving them a free pass.

The thing that concerns me, is if it is as toxic as people are making out, and trying to force Benitez out as soon as possible will see us relegated.

There is only Everton fans who are bothered about that comment.
He's hardly going to release a statement about it whilst he's managing Inter or Madrid.

Your talking like he committed a crime.

This is where the logic tips over. If it is the players fault, it really doesn't matter who the manager is. So why on earth would you appoint Benitez?

Honestly if it was Rodgers I wouldn’t complain

I get that mate and im not aiming anything at you personally but if the bloke does come in it is what it is - there is nothing we can do but see how it goes and get behind the 11 on the pitch.

If we dont we all suffer from it. What I would say though is I wish the people putting up bedsheets and banners were doing that whilst Blue Bill was shafting us for over a decade - that fella has done far more damage to this club and its reputation than Benitez ever could yet he got clapped probably by the same fans acting as if the world is falling down.
