Or just about anyone that has ever managed Everton.I was thinking the same thing. Maybe he meant Colin Harvey.
Wow, if he thought it was bad under Sam, he may need to get some ear plugs for what maybe coming.
What about when we start losing games under Benitez, how do you think the crowd will react to that, bearing in mind that a large section of the fans will be against him anyway? As for ending up 4th next season... have you seen our squad, have you seen any of Benitez’ teams in the past decade? Some people live in a delusional dream world where losing games under a ‘progressive’ manager that the media have decreed for them e.g Potter Howe Parker Lampard Hasenhuttl will somehow be more enjoyable for them than winning games under what they’ve termed a pragmatist/dinosaur like Ancelotti Moyes Benitez Nuno.
I can guarantee that this sentiment would quickly be forgotten as soon as we started losing games and no one would be commenting on how nice the football is whilst we were losing.
Not many people on here will give one about we played if we ended up 4th next season with a trophy.
Hope so,all the shouting and screaming being threatened and when we kick off against soton,
he ll get a round of applause, a redition of ton, ton, ton!
and it will all continue like before!
The thing is, I don't think people believe this is true...
There are other managers available whose methods are more progressive, who are hungry to win and who have a track record of success in the last ten years. Some of these managers will not drive a wedge between the fans, and between the fans and the board. Some of these managers will not bring a defensive style to the club. Some of these managers will not make the club difficult to whole heartedly support.
I really believe that is the issue
Not really. You've got to be really dim not to see the irony. You’ve changed your tune blue boy
How many lost games do you give him before you "start your demonstration"? One or two? Regular losses are a different thing no matter who the manager is.What about when we start losing games under Benitez,
Not making sense. He appointed Carlo, just that Carlo jumped ship. And to make a fortune (selling off) you need to make the club look even more attractive on papers, bar building a new stadium. What about when we start losing games under Benitez, how do you think the crowd will react to that, bearing in mind that a large section of the fans will be against him anyway? As for ending up 4th next season... have you seen our squad, have you seen any of Benitez’ teams in the past decade?
We will be paying Benitez far more than we would have had to pay many of the other candidates, he is, I believe, going to be given a 3 year contract which, in my opinion, he has little or no chance of fulfilling, this will mean that we will be throwing several millions in compensation at him, when the inevitable parting of the ways occurs.
If we are appointing Benitez, it is not with a view to challenging for honors, it is much more likely Moshiri sees him as a safe option to keep us mid table, until we get the stadium built, at which time he and his Uzbecki mate will sell up and make a fortune. This being the case, we could have appointed somebody much less devisive and much less expensive than Benitez.

BOOOOO........I want a progressive manager myself mate but try look at things from the ownerships point of view:
1. We are due to start work on a £500+ million stadium and need to stay in the league by hook or by crook.
2. Over the last few seasons we've been in the bottom 3 in two consecutive seasons - one of those with a "young exciting progressive manager"
3. the leagues more competitive than its ever been certainly the top half
Taking the above into consideration - you can see why they would look at a bloke who's won a CL, Europa League, FA Cup, La Liga Title, Italian Cup over someone like Favre who is 63 and has won 1 trophy or Potter who's finished just outside of the relegation spots last season.
I dont like Benitez I have to keep pointing that out I dont have a horse in this race - I just think realistically when we have a CM of Doucoure who cant pass a ball, Allan who's not the quickest, wastes of space like Siggurdsson and Gomes I can see why we want a more solid type manager who is also a bit of a no nonsense type to not take crap off this squad of players who aint the most motivated lot at the best of times.
For me we need someone to lay the foundations like Moyes did for Martinez but next time bring in a much better stylist manager than Martinez to take us forward. WHU just did the same with Moyes and finished 6th - they could have gone for a Galtier/Favre type and fell flat on their faces.
To be fair, the irony wasn't immediately apparent but having had a quick browse through your recent posting history yes i can see you were being ironic now so fair do's mate.Wait I can't be ironic two days running, no one told me.
imagine getting married to some random don that your parents set you up with up and then you just boo her every time you see herThat underlines in spades that he'd stay under Benitez. He's saying he steps up and becomes loyal to whoever is in the manager's seat and he cant get his head around not giving that loyalty and he cant get his head around fans booing a manager even when they win because they dont like them.
