I dont think he can leave, who is going to give him a good job? His love of Everton is his drive, that isnt going to help him at other clubs. He might lose his current job, they will just find another for him.
Could replace Slippy at Rangers ?

That's pretty damning of this club when you think about it.

WTF kind of organisation is this? No wonder we've won f.a. for 26 years.

Genuine question as a older chap

Back in the day if we had appointed or been linked to Bill shankey after he left Liverpool would he be as devisive given his comments and one liners over his time

Given how he was welcomed by the board as a guest numerous times and even to bellied to watch training

This 100% he is a reminder of the knife to a gun fight mentality

Christ he [Poor language removed] out of taking a pen against Sunderland in a penalty shootout

And he wore the nbr 9 shirt and had it tattooed

What if it proves a masterstroke appointment from moshiri ?
The only way the board can appoint him and not look like massive fools is if he has an incredible tenure and either wins or trophy or turns us into top 4 regulars.
I’m not confident but surely nobody involved would be doing this without a massive amount to spend on improving the squad.

Social media and websites such as this are ideal for gobbing off about taking drastic action in public which you know, and everyone else knows, you would not dare to do. Imagine sitting in Gladys St and booing Everton or whichever manager. You might escape with only verbal abuse in the Upper Bullens but down there behind the goal you might need protection from something more physical. I got battered once for abusing Liverpool, but there again I was standing in the Kop, so I was stupid. Just saying, cut out these stupid, hollow threats like "I'm going to make the atmosphere toxic from day one" It is childish and utterly false hot air, suitable for social media bandits but not in the real world.
What a load of tosh. You trying to say that any booing you have ever heard in Gladys Street, those doing it have been battered? Bull.

Some people live in a delusional dream world where losing games under a ‘progressive’ manager that the media have decreed for them e.g Potter Howe Parker Lampard Hasenhuttl will somehow be more enjoyable for them than winning games under what they’ve termed a pragmatist/dinosaur like Ancelotti Moyes Benitez Nuno.

I can guarantee that this sentiment would quickly be forgotten as soon as we started losing games and no one would be commenting on how nice the football is whilst we were losing.

Not many people on here will give one about we played if we ended up 4th next season with a trophy.

But we’re not going to end up 4th with a trophy are we?

I want a progressive manager myself mate but try look at things from the ownerships point of view:

1. We are due to start work on a £500+ million stadium and need to stay in the league by hook or by crook.

2. Over the last few seasons we've been in the bottom 3 in two consecutive seasons - one of those with a "young exciting progressive manager"

3. the leagues more competitive than its ever been certainly the top half

Taking the above into consideration - you can see why they would look at a bloke who's won a CL, Europa League, FA Cup, La Liga Title, Italian Cup over someone like Favre who is 63 and has won 1 trophy or Potter who's finished just outside of the relegation spots last season.

I dont like Benitez I have to keep pointing that out I dont have a horse in this race - I just think realistically when we have a CM of Doucoure who cant pass a ball, Allan who's not the quickest, wastes of space like Siggurdsson and Gomes I can see why we want a more solid type manager who is also a bit of a no nonsense type to not take crap off this squad of players who aint the most motivated lot at the best of times.

For me we need someone to lay the foundations like Moyes did for Martinez but next time bring in a much better stylist manager than Martinez to take us forward. WHU just did the same with Moyes and finished 6th - they could have gone for a Galtier/Favre type and fell flat on their faces.
Agree with many of your points and appreciate the response, except I think last season we laid foundations. We were top early in the season and relevant in the top four discussion through christmas and then involved with euro qualification up to the last few matches. We need someone who can drive us on not cement the foundations beneath us. We never feared relegation in ancelotti's 18 monht tenure. I can accept that Moshiri got spooked and called in BFS, and get the once bitten, etc... but thats not where we are as a club right now. We are on the verges of something better not on the edge of something worse. Maybe it is a glass half full thing but its hard to accept that the best we can aim for is avoiding relegation. NSNO!

Not gonna lie, it's a No to Rafael but you kinda have to admire his bottle for doing this.

Gonna be a very hard ride for him here. The first stray pass of the season and the fume will descend on him. Regardless of what he wants and the reasons the board want him in.....It's just not going to work. Liverpool would never hire an ex Everton manager.

Wreaks of Smol Cloob syndrome all this. But Jesus Christ, Rafael has thick skin that holds his Spanish, restaurant sized testicles.

YNWA RAFFIE GEE LAD!
