Lille’s manager has gone to Nice. Petkovic who manages Switzerland has done a good job. Think he was at Lazio before, not sure how that went but I assume not well lol
Won the coppa Italia with them in 2013.

Finished 7th first season, then was sacked the following year as he agreed to take on the Switzerland job at the end of the season without permission. They were in 10th and in the knockout stages of europa league at the time.

We should stop chasing "names" altogether and look to build something with a talented young manager. I would accept 14th place if we were prepared to do that. It's essentially what Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig do and it's working out fine for them. Our billionaire owners lack imagination and believe throwing money at "names", both players and managers, will get us to the promised land. Maybe it will, what do I know, but it isn't working at the moment.
Yep its called having a strategy as opposed to flailing around in a schizophrenic manner picking any old manager on the basis that they've previously managed in the Premier League. Ditto for players. It will never work, Koeman to Silva to Allardyce to Ancelotti to Beneathus makes absolutely no sense and are the appointments of clueless idiots.

So who do you want soft lad?

Eddie Howe?
Patrick Viera?
Gattuso?

Give ya head a wobble there aint no one better wanting the job.

And LOL the blokes in charge for all their faults are building YOU ALL a world class stadium on the docks - yet that is "ripping the heart out the club".

Short memories some of you lot get back to worshipping Blue Bill selling a once in a generation talent to keep the club from folding.
There is more than 3 managers in the world, the board haven't turned up and said " Yano what lads that foreverblue92 is the biggest bestest blue ever, let's build him a stadium', it's getting built for THEIR benefit not mine or yours

Maybe it’s because they tried the up and coming manager approach with Silva and that back fired massively?

I would also like to see us go down that route again but let’s be honest, if after 7/8 months things are t looking great they’ll be shown the door. This is the problem at the club, both the board and the fans mostly are trigger happy. Managers won’t be afforded time, even though a major rebuild is necessary.

Any young up and coming manager would probably think twice about taking on this beast.
I just don't understand this idea at all. Something failing once is not reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater - the established name approach has failed 3 times so far but for some reason people still think thats the way to go? It's harsh to say Silva 'backfired massively' too, in his only full season he finished higher than the great Carlo who people thought was sent from Heaven to have his feet kissed by us peasants. He wasn't the right manager for us but he did no worse than anyone else.

The fans will be patient if they have something to believe in. They were patient with Moyes, and even with Martinez (he got about 2 1/2 years before the tide turned, and taking us from top 6 to consecutive 11ths was quite the fall let's not forget). They aren't patient at the moment because the club doesn't do or say the right things. You can't say you have a small window to achieve success and then say you want people to be patient, you can't sack managers every time you hit a bad run and say you want people to be patient, you can't sign a load of 29/30 year olds and say wait 3 years for it to come good. If the board started doing things the right way the fans would follow their lead, and if they didn't then the board could say just pipe down we're not rushing it so ranting and raving won't help. They clearly aren't averse to the idea of doing that, seeing as they're willing to ride roughshod over fan opinion in this case.

There are only 4 managers we could possibly sign. (It's better than the straight call between benitez and howe that he has been banging on about for weeks) Conveniently, they are all unemployed.

But there are no other managers in football that are possible for us. We just need to accept this.

Probably harder than you think seeing as how Spurs are also struggling. You’d think that a team in the biggest league in the world like Spurs won’t have issues with finding a manager. But here we are.
Who have we been rejected by exactly? There is this assumption that we have been roundly rejected but all I can see is that we were in advanced talks with NES and we wouldn't agree to his staffing demands then all of this Benitez hoopla. Spurs have the twin problems of a massive cash drain due to the new stadium and Covid plus their best player wanting to leave. They also have Levy to deal with. The idea that a manager that relegated Newcastle and then nearly relegated a Chinese club when he was there in semi-retirement is our only option is ludicrous.
