I agree mate but what I've been trying to get across is we have to take the emotion out of the situation.

IF Benitez is the best available option for Everton then it benefits the club, you, me, @Kev The Rat every Evertonian regardless of if you hate the fella or not.

To go down the road of chasing him out and hypothetically bringing in someone like Howe who does a worse job and damages the club is bonkers.

I get you'll have the minority who wont ever get behind the fella but im just trying to argue the point support the club and see what happens and if he does well great its good for us - if he doesn't he'll get booted like the rest of them.

One good thing I saw before was apparently Benitez signed Demba Ba at Chelsea which gave us a brilliant moment in PL history lol
Who has said the FSW is the best available option for the club? I don’t know why you keep repeating this claim. It’s almost like you actually want him here.

basically everyone who doesn’t want him would prefer Nuno in charge for example -not that he’d be a preferred choice of course.

We are 4 days from pre season with a bang average squad - we have to crack on and start building this club back up we cant afford a circus going on for weeks and months.

Your taking the most sense in this thread recent, good stuff.

But why would we be appointing him if the owners dont believe he is?

You really believe the owners are sat chucking away on Usmanov's yacht burning CV's of Conte, Pochettino and Kovac just so they can get Benitez in to wind the fanbase up and unnecessarily put pressure on themselves?

People shouldn't be putting offensive banners up about Benitez they should be aiming their anger at Ancelotti who has back stabbed us all and left us in the lurch last minute.

There is too misplaced anger around this club at present. Usmanov/Moshiri/Benitez the devils whilst Kenwright/Brands/Ancelotti the saints.

In PL era, the only appointment from the foreign league was Walter Smith so really don’t expect the board to appoint someone without PL exp. The former Lille manager could be good though but has now gone to Nice.

So says the fans sat in their bedrooms mate.

Logic at this point suggests we aint knocking on Ajaxs door to pay them £15 million compo for Ten Hag and even if we did - they aint letting him leave just as pre season is starting as then they are knackered.
If it can take 2/3 weeks to appoint an out of work manager god's knows how long it would of took with someone in work

The owners believe he is another ‘name’ manager in the same way they thought of Koeman - and are pressing ahead with this disaster because of that and in spite of the level of animosity and ill will that will naturally be generated.

but at least we seem to be getting somewhere in trying to establish your thought process - the board have decided that he is the choice therefore he must be the best choice available.

Complete nonsense of course given the boards track record of appointments.
