I suspect it'll be exactly the opposite. If it was a manager the fans wanted then yes, they'd want it to be big news but as it's FSW I reckon they're waiting to bury the news when something else hits the news.

I'd be fine with FSW just turning up on the opening day of the season without it ever being announced.
I just can't see that being the case. They're aware it's not a fan pleasing decision to say the least. They've now got to embrace it and fully back their man otherwise the fan unrest will turn to revolt. If they don't show absolute confidence in their decision to go against the fans it's over before it starts. Its sort of similar to how the ESL was one crappy statement at 11 at night, it was doomed like they were embarrassed about it. We just done a statement about Allardyce and everyone knew he'd be gone in 6 months time. It's probably going to start and end in tears regardless but the announcement itself should set the tone.

The club will want this top of BBC Sport, Sky sports and getting lots of clicks on the site, but that's just my opinion he could well be announced as half time ends tonight I just can't see it.

I just dont know what people want mate.

Ped said it on Toffee Tv - protest at Benitez but whats the end game? Chase him out for someone like Alladyce or Howe to get the gig who the fanbase also dont want?

The only reason I would be behind people wanting to chase Benitez out is if someone like Conte wants the job but the board are ignoring him.

But that's not remotely likely - its hysteria and fans not seeing the woods from the trees.
Its on footballing grounds - he's literally no better than any other dinosaur manager - including a Howe or Allardyce frankly - and comes with terrible baggage in addition.

But yet in football management that’s what they are. Add them to the long list of rich incompetent football owners!
When you look at say randy Lerner Aston vill and Ellis short at Sunderland no doubting there intentions were good but constantly making the same wrong decisions was a recipe for disaster

I wouldn’t rule that out completely because Everton are staggeringly bad at reading the room, but it’s a really, really awful idea. I mean trying to maximise clicks when a bloke is literally having threats left outside his house because you can’t be arsed doing an announcement is a whole new level of stupidity.
I mean the whole thing is stupidity. You cannot apply logic and common sense to Everton in it's current form. It's just my opion that having horrificly misread the room the past month that this will be the avenue they go down. There's no ideal handling to a Benitez announcement but they have to show confidence in their man especially given the banners. I'm personally coming round to the isolation theory in that it couldn't be until at least today however farfetched it is

But then if someone else comes in instead who the fans dont want are we going to chase them out as well?

We going into pre season then the season without a manager?

Give it Dunc? Half the fanbase dont want him either so chase him out?!

Thats the problem - there is no stand out candidate available and we dont know if Benitez is the best candidate or not. We're all assuming we know more than the board but the club never communicate with us so we cant full understand what situation the club is in.

Thats the danger for me we as fans dont have the full picture and our actions could put us into further dire straits.

I'm not totally convinced PED is bright enough to process it, but it's not one of three choices.

So says the fans sat in their bedrooms mate.

Logic at this point suggests we aint knocking on Ajaxs door to pay them £15 million compo for Ten Hag and even if we did - they aint letting him leave just as pre season is starting as then they are knackered.

I know and the fans know that he’s no improvement on Allardyce or Howe - there’d be less complaints if Nuno was put in charge and I can guarantee the fans wouldn’t want shut of him any quicker than The FSW.

given the above why anger people with this level of toxic appointment ?

I think pretty much anyone else would be given a chance, just for the fact they are not Benitez, as long as they are not Allardyce either. This really is going to be ugly.

I agree mate but what I've been trying to get across is we have to take the emotion out of the situation.

IF Benitez is the best available option for Everton then it benefits the club, you, me, @Kev The Rat every Evertonian regardless of if you hate the fella or not.

To go down the road of chasing him out and hypothetically bringing in someone like Howe who does a worse job and damages the club is bonkers. We are 4 days from pre season with a bang average squad - we have to crack on and start building this club back up we cant afford a circus going on for weeks and months.

I get you'll have the minority who wont ever get behind the fella but im just trying to argue the point support the club and see what happens and if he does well great its good for us - if he doesn't he'll get booted like the rest of them.

One good thing I saw before was apparently Benitez signed Demba Ba at Chelsea which gave us a brilliant moment in PL history lol
