Please stop with the moyes shouts
Never won a thing on his own merit, it’s embarrassing

It's ridiculous isn't it?

I mean he's not a bad manager sometimes depending on the circumstances but he is hardly some legendary figure. We know exactly what we would get with him and that's half decent seasons with zero victories when it matters most.

It has got to the point where he does my head in and it's not even his fault. The settling for him is weird. There are loads of managers out there.

Is that not depressing? That you'd settle for Moyes, cause we're stuck with a load of unwanted fodder, who will not push us to the next level.

Praying the club are using the names as a smokescreen, and we're secretly in talks with a decent manager.
Yes it is depressing. Like you I’m hoping an announcement will be made and it will be Poch or Conte, premier league experience would be good I think

I see Conte is favorite for the Spurs job. No money to spend and probably losing Kane.

Like us with Ancelotti they’ll be peeing their money away with him. He’s not doing anything of significance at Spurs with little money to play around with.

He’ll be sacked or walk within 2 years I guarantee it.

A steady ship right now would be good. I’d rather that than certain relegation

We do need that, he would not necessarily give us that though. Moyes has a relegation on his CV unlike Nuno too so there is no real basis to think that the Moyes outcome would be the best one.

It's just the short memories people have?

Worked the "little old Everton" to his favour, made us seen as a "plucky" underdog, doing unspeakable things, by finishing 8th.

Lost to the worst Liverpool team in 50-60 years, and tried to bring a defender on on 90 mins at 1-1.

Left and gave his word that he wouldn't unsettle our players, only to throw lowball offers in for Fellaini and Bained.

Fella was with us for 11 years, and made 1 final... in that time Portsmouth, Wigan, Bolton, Middlesbrough, Cardiff (Second division!) etc all made the same or more finals.

He's a perennial loser, who's got a ceiling he'll never, ever break.

One of my reservations with Nuno is how hungry is he really for the job. We need managers with some to prove like Moyes had when he first arrived. He threw everything into it and the players bought into that. Since then there’s never been that feeling. All the managers have either had one eye on another job or just seemed weary to be here. Would Nuno have the commitment to Everton so recently after Wolves or is this just Silva and Koeman all over again.

Read my post again, I said I’d go for Conte first and foremost.

The rest of my post read, I’m dreading Nuno or Howe because I think they’ll relegate us with the gash we’ve got in our squad.

Eggs , you have watched a lot more youth football so you know more about the staff than I .
Would you promote from within ?

...nope. Unsworth was temporarily given the reigns & it was embarrassing when Joe Royle had to come down from the stands at Southampton & offer advice.

Beyond that, I couldn’t have Ferguson.

Looking back, Colin Harvey was a magnificent coach but couldn’t handle the transition. To be fair to Harvey, he’d have been fine these days because transfer activity is within the remit of the DoF. I’m not seeing a coach with Harvey’s talent in the Academy ranks (he won an FA Youth Cup & the likes of Graham Sharp highlight him as having the single greatest impact on his career).

They'd be a dream... a pipe dream certainly for Poch, who surely is not leaving PSG to come to 10th place Everton.

I'm still convinced the way to get it right is Rangnick, let him share that knowledge with Brands, breed that winning culture, overhaul the squad which he's done at 3 different clubs (with great success).

It feels as if the club are absolutely deflated by this, and don't want to get stung again, but the candidates suggested, are nothing short of alarming, and disappointing.

Can I ask in all seriousness, why would premier league experience be good?

We have done this, and had nothing but setbacks (in Koeman case 5 years worth). I see nothing but average managers who are in the league which we would get, so why appoint one of them because they have managed in the prem.

There are so many good managers who would jump at a chance to manage us, good salary, good budget and in reality a pretty good fanbase, the obsession with experience in this league needs to stop.

Moyes did a good job when he was here, he was tasked with changing us from relegation battlers to a solid top half team, which he did. He has, however, shown no real promise throughout his career, of ever being a manager who will break the glass ceiling and challenge for honors.

Also, if we think Carlo’s press conference at Madrid disrespected us, cast your minds back to Moyes’ comments when he left for Old Trafford and the snide way he was meeting with Fergie to discus the Utd. job for months before he left us.

The only thing he has going for him, in my opinion, is that he is not Allardyce.

I never really trust betting odds when it comes to stuff like this because the odds shorten when more people put money on it. I'm sure last time out ancelotti was favourite to go to arsenal and we were favourites to get moyes back, at one point.

...I find it more interesting when somebody from left field gets backed into a short price. Interesting rather than conclusive. There might be a case for thinking somebody from the club knows of an approach.

I think this is it mate, some of us revel in the "knife to a gunfight" mentality, it literally grinds me to death.

Moyes is part of the problem we are plucky little Everton, pat their head and put them in the corner.

He should be nowhere near our club.

You have literally summed this up here, people saying lets get Moyes. Proven failure or potential failure, I know which one id chose all the time.

My heads gone with people actually clamouring to get Moyes back, clouded memories indeed.

I guess thats because the shortlist isnt very inspiring, you know what you get with him whereas others would be an unknown quantity. Plus he got our highest league position since 87/88.

Im of the opinion that we go for the best we can get, but if we cant I rather Moyes than all on the lists I`ve seen. He is a safe pair of hands and will stabalise us, I think he`d get us Europe BUT would he leave the Europa and West Ham to come to the car crash Everton is at the moment?

Our fans have some bizarre nostalgia based obsession with him. “Yeh. Well, he got us 4th,he gets us, he knows the club, operates on a shoestring, he wouldn’t take any crap..”
Those things are not enough to qualify for this club, not if you want to try and achieve regular success
This guy, in his whole career, has won promotion from the championship and charity shield with fergies team. At the same time he has ditched us, attempted to nick our best players, been relegated and sacked from clubs like Sunderland

Mira a weird fetish our fans have for more failures
