I guess thats because the shortlist isnt very inspiring, you know what you get with him whereas others would be an unknown quantity. Plus he got our highest league position since 87/88.

Im of the opinion that we go for the best we can get, but if we cant I rather Moyes than all on the lists I`ve seen. He is a safe pair of hands and will stabalise us, I think he`d get us Europe BUT would he leave the Europa and West Ham to come to the car crash Everton is at the moment?
Inspiring!?
Other than Howe, the decent shouts on those lists have all won more than this guy ever will

What shortlist mate?

The one printed in the media? Are we to believe that is the shortlist of the club, because if it is the issues run further the just getting Moyes back.

Whats to say he doesn't come back and relegates West Ham next season? can I seen them repeating this? No not at all.

He is a snide, and horrible snide who has given us this whole plucky Everton culture. Thanks Moyes for stabilising us when we needed it, but you can kiss my backside for snivelling with Ferguson for months behind our back to move on, and remember his comments when he left?

I don't want him near this club.

One of my reservations with Nuno is how hungry is he really for the job. We need managers with some to prove like Moyes had when he first arrived. He threw everything into it and the players bought into that. Since then there’s never been that feeling. All the managers have either had one eye on another job or just seemed weary to be here. Would Nuno have the commitment to Everton so recently after Wolves or is this just Silva and Koeman all over again.

I think he would. Think he’d be buzzing coming here. New project, bigger club, more money, better chance to draw better players. Seems like wherever he’s been he’s been deeply respected by his players and his teams seem to be high on spirit and character. Something Ancelotti just didn’t seem to improve on here.

Unlike Silva at least he didn’t take his club back down and actually built some stability and made his team competitive.

The list is uninspiring, but wasn't Moyes football?

I think everyone is like a wounded animal, and we're all struggling and will take what we can take at the moment.

But under Moyes, we were hitting sub 30,000 for games, the football was turgid, uninspiring stuff, the fans fell out of love with him, long before he left, but apparently absence makes the heart grow fonder is definitely the case here.

Whether he'd come back or not, I just don't see a manager who's had one good season in 10 seasons since he's left as a progressive manager, or one we should be identifying as a good one.

Read my post again, I said I’d go for Conte first and foremost.

The rest of my post read, I’m dreading Nuno or Howe because I think they’ll relegate us with the gash we’ve got in our squad.

I did read it! What I am saying is why would they be at risk of relegating us any more than Moyes would? There is no real basis for thinking this.

I think some of us are looking at us in the wrong way. We are not looking for a manage to avoid relegation, we are looking for one to take us above this incredibly boring 7th-10th place finish area that we seem to be stuck in.

He isnt, that should be enough of a pin in this topic.

We know who will be pushing this at board level.... and maybe this is why the issues at the club are running deeper and we are being ran like a shambles.

Let Brands live or die by this appointment, let him take over it all and keep Kenwright out and get Moshiri to sign it off.

Dead easy.

Don’t want him anywhere near the club, be a step backwards, the thought of it makes me feel ill, and I can do without it at my age.

And even Howe did a great job at Bournemouth which seems to get overlooked because he couldn't keep a club the size of a League One club in the top flight for multiple years.

I get our fans not wanting Howe or Potter etc but they do seem to overlook just how good a job they have done at their respective clubs, Nuno too actually. I would say they worked better "miracles" than Moyes did here.

No absolutely he would not.

Moyes has seen what happens when he takes a risk elsewhere now. He should be grateful West Ham took a chance on him and he seems to have a good thing going on there. They will be happy with decentish seasons, he would be mad to leave them at this point to be honest.

According to the echo Brands has encountered over 40 applicants sounding out interest over the job. I know it's the echo but that supports what the mail reported where its seems like this process is far from over and there might be some thoroughness applied. So the moyes vs. Nuno narrative thankfully seems premature.

I mean, i entirely agree, for what it's worth.

Moshiri isn't pushing for Moyes, is he? But if papers are to be believed, he's pushing for Nuno, so where does that leave us?

Again, spot on, if we're not getting someone who's a cut above the rest like Rangnick, then we need to be giving Brands this choice. Surely Brands can't be on board with Moyes or Nuno? Give him the scope because so far since Martinez, we've got it wrong every time.
