1 game straight after New Year in mid week against Bolton in 10 years.

Yeah you’ve won that argument pal…

All i'm saying is, we've sold out every game for the last 7-8 years at home.

We were hitting 7-8,000 empty seats, per game. It was dour. Just saying people have short memories.

Wasn't though, was it?

Lets not act like children now.

Also, for what i'm saying isn't that we weren't good at any stage, it's towards the end, we'd all got bored of what was being served up.

The mind is excellent thing, in that it can block out loads of the bad stuff, but remembers positives. Moyes football towards the end was absolutely dire.
Was that the Tim Howard goal game in like 100 mile an hour wind? Surprised that many turned up in that weather.

Rangnick was my choice, I think he would work well with Brands, who needs to carry on without any interference from other board members including the owner, he knows about football, the others don’t.
Out of interest - and I’m not necessarily disagreeing, I’m just curious - what makes you think he’d work well with Brands? The only thing I really know about Rangnick is that he’s spent most of his recent career as a DoF, rather than a coach, which to me would imply the opposite?

You think we’ve sold out because the football has been better than under Moyes?

Are you having a laugh or what?

Silva, Koeman, Allerdyce, latter-day Martinez? Seriously?

Convenient that, isn't it?

As soon as United came sniffing, he started playing good football.... then reverted to sort when it was more or less confirmed.

Just a big fat no from me.

I mean we played great in his last game v West Ham..

Only in Roberto’s first season has the football been better since.

So we’ve gone from a blanket “we were dropping below 30k for games” to picking out ONE league game, immediately after Christmas, in the middle of the week, 18 months before he left (and when we averaged over 36k the following season)

Come on mate

Wasn't that game threatened to be postponed due to high winds? I get your point, you're not technically lying, but attendances were high thought the Moyes years. Moyes had two good periods with us. The season we finished 4th then a rebuilt squad where we regularly finished top 6 and got to the cup final 07-10. The latter was a very good team, we just didn't have strength in depth and we were lacking that top player. I'm not saying we should bring back moyes, it wouldn't work, but in my time of supporting Everton (last 30 years) that's the best squad we've had.

The list is uninspiring, but wasn't Moyes football?

I think everyone is like a wounded animal, and we're all struggling and will take what we can take at the moment.

But under Moyes, we were hitting sub 30,000 for games, the football was turgid, uninspiring stuff, the fans fell out of love with him, long before he left, but apparently absence makes the heart grow fonder is definitely the case here.

Whether he'd come back or not, I just don't see a manager who's had one good season in 10 seasons since he's left as a progressive manager, or one we should be identifying as a good one.4th x 1
4th x 1
5th x 2
6th x 2
You would bite a hand off for that now.
As for the football, the side he put together with Peinaar, Arteta, Yakubu, Cahill, Lescott, Baines, Jags etc wes the best side we’ve had in 25 years and played some great football.
The season he left when he finished 6th, we had enough quality which enabled Martinez to add 3 players to, which went on to have a cracking season.

I don’t want Moyes back, but let’s not dismiss and make up lies about his time here.
For balance, he had a couple of really bad seasons.

So based on what we’ve heard so far, it’s between Moyes, NES, Ferguson, and approx 40 other unknown applicants for the job. So unless within those applicants there’s an exciting up and comer from a foreign league then we’re probably not looking far and wide at who is available. Rather like signing players, we almost always seem to go for the obvious which is worrying.

Fully aware that the financial implications at the time played their part, but we were going absolutely no where, I hated it.

It was repeat, after repeat.... close, but Moyes did just enough to scrape through.

Since then, not exactly been better, but he overstayed his welcome, the football was just poor. I want us to break the mould, just like everyone does, I just know Moyes isn't the right answer.

The more I read about Marcello Gallardo, the more I like. Young, dynamic, a winner.... would be pleased if someone like him came in, swept away all the garbage and rebuilt.

I know nothing about the man, but I think it's a massive stretch to think someone is a guaranteed success in England due to success in South America.

I am open to pretty much anyone right now because everyone I think will do well here ends up leaving or sacked. But I reckon Gallardo is the biggest gamble of them all. I also doubt everyone talking him up has watched much of the Coppa Libertadores.
