Lets get Sergio in and get some much needed fight and grit back in the club. Would love to see this fella leading us out in a Derby. Even if he ends up doing crap at least it will be entertaining until the next Manager is needed.

The only "big" name manager I'd want here who is possibly free soon is Pochettino.

Benitez, Nuno, Howe etc. can get firmly in the bin.

Rangnick I'd have in if he can replace Brands at the same time.

ten Hag, Gallardo, Amorim, Galtier etc. I'd prefer to the binned few since they're a bit more out of the box.

Think it's likely that both of you are just talking about the moment you realised Everton had hit a glass ceiling. It wasn't because of Moyes that that happened, but he was in charge when it did, and so in people's heads it becomes his fault. He stayed here a long time, it got a bit samey, people got bored and convinced themselves everything would change if he left because it was him holding us back. It takes about 10 seconds of looking at our record before and after him to make you realise this wasn't the case.

That being said, the same thing would apply if he came back. He's had his time here, it went well without actually being successful, and there's just no need at all for him to be given another go. I very much doubt he's even in the reckoning to be honest, and a mixture of lazy journalism and his team trying to make it sound like he's in demand and needs a better contract are all that's keeping his name in the frame.

I would go along with you that it is paper talk, but I think we all know that he will have 1 big admirer in the Everton boardroom and unfortunately (depending on how you view it) the process is quite opaque and there seems to be a sort of Poulantzian way of making decisions. I'd also add, I think Moshiri seems to get very influenced by what has gone immediately before and Moyes is very much in vogue currently.

I think he'd do ok, but there's a lot of water under that particular bridge.

Poch asked to leave PSG but only to go to Spurs, if he isnt leaving and Conte goes in at Spurs then I assume Poch will stay at PSG.

Actually agree with the most of this.

There are a lot of "ifs" of course, but i'm sure if he'd had the same rollercoast we've all endured over the last 6 years, he'd have fared just as bad.

I think everyone appreciated we needed change, but whilst i'm not changing the subject, we've just handled it so poorly, and people will look back at those steady years with more hope than Allardyce and Ancelotti leaving us in the mire.

He won't come back, there's been absolutely zero talk and he's got West Ham into the Europa, he won't leave it. Doesn't mean we're not a mess mind.

He was linked once before wasn’t he?

I like him too mate. Things did go stale but along with Martinez' first season, Moyes was great in the initial years apart from the season we finished 17th. They are the only crumbs I can take from the last 20 years.

To me appointing him would just be an admittance of defeat and a sign of desperation, that we have no ideas and nowhere to turn.

It's been a sobering few weeks in particular, but I don't accept it's that bad, and that we have no options.

I think we have crossed the desperation bridge when we got Allardyce mate!
