He did do a good job at Wolves, and he finished 4th in la liga with Valencia. Let's face it looking at some of the front runners for the job, David Moyes and Eddie Howe etc, it's a pretty underwhelming list of candidates. Whoever we get will be a come down from Ancelotti, but at least Nuno Santo has experience of doing well in la liga and the premiership. So if it is him then hopefully he'll do a good job for us. We could do better than him, but we can also do a lot worse.

Going off that chart Southampton ran MORE than City, and West Ham and Leicester ran LESS than us but finished higher, West Brom, Fulham and Sheff Utd all ran more than us and Wolves but will be enjoying championship football next season, there's more to football than legging it everywhere

It’s interesting because supposedly Moyes was insistent on West Ham players running more. This suggests there is more nuance, and suggests it is about running more in the right places, and not about expending needless energy so there is strength in the legs at key moments.

I don't want this dragging on for weeks, as we have a hard time getting our house in order each summer at the best of times.

Ragnick would be my punt choice, but if that isn't doable, get Nuno in ASAP.

Pretending to be in for someone like Conte while all the realistic options go elsewhere is a recipe for disaster.

Koeman was the ultimate climber. Always had his eye on the next job. Of course Ancelotti did too, or at least there was a point when he realised he couldn't polish a turd and started thinking about bailing. Silva would have moved on to a bigger club had he not flopped. I think the players can see that in the managers and that affects their mentality
Sorry, but if you’re counting Silva as a “climber” then there’s no one who isn’t a climber.

Who would you suggest that DOESN’T fall into the category of “would leave if offered a job at a bigger club”?

You’re basically saying it needs to be Duncan.
