In fairness he got Wolves consecutive top 7 Premier League finishes on a relatively tiny budget. I would obviously prefer Poch to him but he wouldn’t be a bad appointment at all. What’s more, even after contending with a long injury list and a congested fixture list he still got them a mid-table finish this season.
But is he capable of driving a team beyond that 7th spot?

Defensive football and counter attacking football aren’t the same thing. What we’ve been playing is defensive football, where we rarely commit more than 3 players to an attack from open play and pretty much rely on set pieces to score. An effective counter attacking side is one that’s quick in transition with players capable of playing box to box all over the pitch, meaning you’re able to commit more bodies to attack. Big Red are a counter attacking side, you’d never call them defensive.
