I wanted Conte here
After a few days I’ve changed my mind and come to the conclusion that I don’t want any Italians.
Don’t trust the back stabbing snakes.

If this was a mob movie, De Niro would play Ancelotti, Joe Pesci would be playing Real Madrid, and Frank Sivero (dumb guy in Goodfellas) would be Everton.

Everton right now getting stabbed in the back of the head in a car after a nice meal were they all laughed together.

I don't want a manager who doesn't know the league, the country, the language or the challenge he faces.

You see that as a negative but it can also be a positive, imagine getting a manager that knows the league and is scared stiff of Citeh and the RS from the off... I`m sure any manager coming in would certainly have done their homework and studied the various sides.

It’s mad that when we don’t leak anything as a club people just leap to their own conclusions!
The thread is full of ‘it’s gonna be this guy’, ‘why aren’t we talking to this guy’, ‘why is the club so narrow minded’ etc. when the reality is we could have approached 50 people or 1 person so far, nobody knows!

Chelsea have consistently appointed managers with no Prem experience who have won trophies mind.

Football is football. It needs to be experience managing elite level (top flight) players, not one division in England.

Winners win. Winners adapt.

Is it a bonus if they know the strength/pace of the league? Yes. Should any manager worth his salt already research and know what the league is like regardless, absolutely.

Think we have the nucleus for him to do a good job tbh

Back 3:

Mina / Godfrey / ???

marauding fullbacks providing width

??? / Digne

CM's:

Doucoure / Allan / ???

If its 343 then Richarlison & DCL will do well we just need a top drawer RW with pace

I think if we invested in a CM, CB, RWB & RW his system would work here providing the likes of Gomes, Siggurdsson & Delph get nowhere near the team.

Funnily enough Iwobi actually looked half useful as a RWB he could very well end up as a back up in that position under Nuno.
Don't agree sadly, I don't think we're well set up for a back 3 at all. The only centreback we have who is comfortable in a back 3 is Godfrey - both Mina and Keane prefer a low-block back 4, and Holgate is awful in every system.

As for wingbacks, the only player we have who can play this role at a good level is Digne. Coleman can't run and Nkounkou is completely untried. We'd need to sign at least 2 right wingbacks this summer to play this system and hope that Nkounkou is good enough to deputise for Digne.

As for midfield, Allan and Doucoure are okay for a midfield 2, but, where's the creativity coming from? Neither of them are particularly good on the ball. Gomes is crap and Gylfi doesn't have the legs to play in a midfield 2.

Forwards... will Richarlison even be here next season? And if he is, will he be as crap as he was this season? If James goes, we'll need to bring in 2 quality right-wingers.

This is the problem with NES, he seems to like this 3-4-3 system, but we have 1 good fullback in the entire squad and our centrebacks are crap on the ball. We'd need to overhaul the squad to make a 3-4-3 work, and then what happens when NES gets the boot? We bring in a manager who probably doesn't like 3-4-3 and we need to strip the squad and start again.

It's a depressing conundrum whoever we appoint.

To be honest, we have one of the most watched leagues in the World but I don't expect any non-Prem manager to know every single player, that's what coaching and tactical preparation before game is for.

Look at Bielsa, Pep and Poch of late they have been the most exciting and entertaining of late.

A fresh outlook could be beneficial to us given our past 5 managers had Premier League experience but did nowt for us whereas Moyes came in with fresh eyes and turned us around.

He’s had success in the game without the ego and hype that others get.

The idea that we’d go for Nuno instead of managers like him blows my mind.

He even went to Olympiakos and had success there, so it’s not like he can only manage in Spain like some.

It would be nice to watch an Everton side who can play some passes around too. We literally can’t pass more than twice without losing possession usually.
He’s managed at different levels winning promotions, cups, CL qualification along the way, seems to improve clubs, did the double at Barca but probably lost his job because he didn’t win the CL. You would imagine well connected and currently available

The Chelsea win was purely based on passion and Frank Lampard didn’t have the experience to deal with it, had it been Tuchal or Carlo or one of the other big Chelsea managers, we mostly wouldn’t have won
It wasn’t though , it was also based on tactical decisions which Ferguson explained in detail afterwards in a subsequent interview.
To believe otherwise is probably just bias confirmation.

Based on what?

I was pretty uninspired in the three games he was in charge and has been within the coaching since Roberto.

Im not saying he’s the problem, he’s definitely not the answer though.

You were "uninspired" with duncs games in charge?

Serious question, why are you even interested in football if us being in the relegation zone, lost 9 out of 15 games, won 2 since September and destroyed in the Derby. Then dunc comes in and weve got 3 games against Chelsea, man u and Leicester in the cup in 10 days. We beat Chelsea soundly, get a deserved point against man u and then were 2-0 down at half time against Leicester in the cup the team looks dead on their feet, then we come out for the second half look the better team davies brings it back to 2-1, 91st minute looking like we're going to loose then baines scores a worldie, absolute limbs everywhere.

Fair enough we get knocked out on pens but the team worked harder and had more passion in them in those 3 games then I've seen in a everton team in probably the last decade.

If you're sat there feeling uninspired by that, seriously whats the point in following a team at all?

Everyone is saying that he would clear out the dross but no one knows how close he is to the likes of Siggy, Davies ,Coleman etc ,can his name alone attract better players although that wouldn’t be to difficult with those 3.

They'd clear out when we finish bottom half of the table....or relegated
