From The Athletic article.

That's a good sign, as far as I'm concerned. We can't give away another season to the players that aren't working while a new manager works that out for themselves. We know where the holes are in the squad, let's fill them.
There’s nothing else for it. We can’t afford to have the likes of Richarlison leg it last minute and us sitting there on deadline day trying to loan Mandzukic or something. In the interim brands has to progress our recruitment dealings.

He wouldn't be managing Brighton though would he?

He would (theoretically) be managing better players with more money to spend.

Things need to be looked at relatively.
Yes relatively, he would be managing a group of players that have seen off about 5 Managers, recorded one of our worst home records in history, came 10th after being 2nd on boxing day and couldn't be bothered playing for the 2nd half of the season. Nothing to be concerned about at all.

I also think it's a good sign pointing towards his growing influence in the decision making process. He should be the one selecting the managerial shortlist for the board to select from.

Every manager is going to have that though. All you mentioned there happened under one of the best managers to ever walk the earth. It is a concern regardless.

Ancelotti had an unbelievable record prior to joining Everton, but look at how his spell here turned out?

Looking at it from that viewpoint is ridiculous.
Yes his tenure turned out very underwhelming indeed and we were absolutely abysmal for the 2nd half of this season and played some of the poorest football i have seen in years and yet he still walked away with a 46.27 win ration which is poor by his standards but almost twice as good as Potters for a 2 year period. Maybe not too ridiculous after all then.
