I don't think it was ever the case they would fire Dyche on Day 1. In the context of some credible draws over Christmas they probably felt it was ok to wait and watch.

I don't think they can wait any longer. Every statistic points up huge concern and it's gone from being unsure if sacking is worth the risk to realisation that inaction is a greater risk.

What's now being reported and "assessing' the situation is just a prelude to a statement that Dyche has left the club.
I disagree - they had long enough to see through the weeds and realise what needed to be done. Inaction and indecision will kill you.

Those draws were clearly papering over Grand Canyon sized cracks, as shown by the teams we drew against recent results and our own.

Bloody hell TFG can’t win can they? It’s clear their intention was to have a stable manager based on what went on at Roma & they’ve clearly given Dyche abit of time.

If Sean Dyche is the Everton manager by the Summer, we’ll be in the Championship. 1 win in 11, 2nd lowest goalscorers, absolutely awful football? It’s a no-brainer.

I can hack watching ugly football if it gets you results but it isn’t. He’s gone backwards & we’ve gotten worse. Absolutely insane to think this is a bad move by the new owners

If it's done this week then imo they've acted quickly under the circumstances.

If not then they would have serious questions to answer.

What they do, when they do it, and the replacement are going to divide almost everyone at some point.

I'd settle this week for confirmation of Dyche's departure and successor announced within 24-48 hrs max.

If this is true (if) then I’m now worried about TFG decision making. As others have pointed out, they’ve had months to come to a conclusion, to either stick or twist.
If they’re only realising how bad things are because of Bournemouth, and started the process of deciding what to do next then they simply haven’t been doing their job.
I said weeks ago that typically, Dyche will grind out results against City, Arsenal and Chelsea and delay his sacking as a result. If he lost those I have no doubt he'd be gone already

I really hope this part is just worded badly:

"The Friedkin Group's plan was to get to the end of this season and then conduct a full and detailed evaluation of the club."

Regardless of our current state you cannot waste the next few months and then go into the Summer looking to do some form of full evaluation. We need to go into the Summer window absolutely flying out of the blocks. The gap between seasons is short as it is.

The noises out of the media have definitely been getting a little louder post-Forest and now Bournemouth, particularly with the manner in which we lost both. Match of the Day crucified him the other night with those stats.

It's something that the Friedkins have surely been made aware of.

I found that a slightly weird article too. Perhaps it's just the wording, but why would they only be "assessing" Dyche now? Any competent owner would assess the manager from the moment they had agreed to take over the club - and would surely have an opinion on the manager even from before then. I can only assume Myers means that they are now actively seeking a replacement as the Bournemouth result was the green light/last straw to proceed with his removal.

I found that article a little "down with the fans" for my liking - perhaps reflecting his own fan opinion as opposed to actually being in the know given the regime change will have eroded his sources.

The old Vote of Confidence is in.

I don't want to lose a game/points just to sack him. I hope we beat Villa because it eases the pressure but I would rather we sacked him this week

None of the journos have a line to the Friedkins.

Whatever they hear comes from club sources who won’t know the full picture themselves.

He did also suggest that the Friedkins' initial message was that they wanted to take stock in the summer based on us keeping our heads above water, but now the picture has changed somewhat based on the last couple of results & performances. Doesn't necessarily mean that they won't have been thinking that this was a potential scenario and don't already have a plan to tackle it..

Nothing is absolute but from the way dyche was rambling even more incoherent and delusional in the post match interview it seems like he knows his finished, also like others have mentioned the media has begun to amplify their scrutiny to a higher degree and the friedkin's are known to be pretty ruthless regarding results it seems like his sacking is imminent. I think Myers inserted that part about the friedkin's originally intending to do all proper assessment after the season as a pr piece trying to portray them as thorough and not impestous obviously it clashes with current fan sentiment but hopefully it occurs within the next day or so

I thought the same. It was the classic glazed look he had - looked as if he was staring into space.

Here's hoping. I, too, hoped Dyche would see out his contract and us to safety, and had no issue with him staying on this month when they took over. The three draws suggested he would grind out enough, but then he predictably blew that progress with disastrous defeats to modest sides having a good season. Nobody will ever tell me that we should be losing to Forest and Bournemouth and taking it on the chin. Not when we are sitting on the precipice.

I can't see any logic in dithering now. Dyche failed his acid test against Forest. Bournemouth nailed the shut coffin. Logic tells me these Texans will move him on ASAP - unless they are cut from the same cloth as our previous owners...
