A caretaker is fine.

But can we stop with the ex-Blues connections.

We don't need to be that club anymore. I'd prefer no caretaker, and us to have a manager lined up.

Completely agree with this sentiment. Tired of our fans always yearning for ex players/managers. It's such a small time mentality that we need to steer well clear of. Football has changed so much, leaving us to stagnate. Time to start running us as a competent business.

That includes, not bringing back Richarlison, for heavens sake.

Or Moyes.

Especially Moyes.

I found that a slightly weird article too. Perhaps it's just the wording, but why would they only be "assessing" Dyche now? Any competent owner would assess the manager from the moment they had agreed to take over the club - and would surely have an opinion on the manager even from before then. I can only assume Myers means that they are now actively seeking a replacement as the Bournemouth result was the green light/last straw to proceed with his removal.

I found that article a little "down with the fans" for my liking - perhaps reflecting his own fan opinion as opposed to actually being in the know given the regime change will have eroded his sources.
I hope that your assumption is correct. That Myers means they’re actively seeking a replacement now.
But even that worries me, because I’d have hoped they already have thought this through; that preliminary agreements are in place with someone and that it’s simply a case of executing a plan. And not ‘oooo better think about candidates. First, let’s put a job ad in LinkedIn after we’ve binned Sean’

I really hope this part is just worded badly:

"The Friedkin Group's plan was to get to the end of this season and then conduct a full and detailed evaluation of the club."

Regardless of our current state you cannot waste the next few months and then go into the Summer looking to do some form of full evaluation. We need to go into the Summer window absolutely flying out of the blocks. The gap between seasons is short as it is.

They've been trying to take over the club for months how could they have no already done some evaluation, especially the footballing aspect, the results are there for them to see. Hopefully it's just our Al not having a clue about what's going on.

I know our best years were under ex-Blues, but the games changed.

It's got to be about bringing in the best people, and whilst I'm not writing off Baines, there's no blues at all who can do a better job than Dyche.

There are tonnes of better options than Dyche, for context.

Yeah I think that has to just be a wording thing surely. I think what he’s trying to say is that their plan was to assess and evaluate until the summer then implement their big decisions in the summer. Or at least being serious business people I would hope so.

Longterm I concur but as a caretaker till the end of the season he would actually provide what dyche is supposed to offer, stability. He is actually capable of implementing younger players into the setup, has an eye for recruitment, and although he is pragmatic can play balanced football with an attacking element with a history of overachieving with a flawed squad

I think Al's just trying to present the situation as the friedkin's taking in all angles before making a move, as al always seems like a classic sychophant with no real access which I'm sure the friedkin's have been mindful of dyche's results so far and have a plan of action in place

I thought the same. It was the classic glazed look he had - looked as if he was staring into space.
Talking of the post Bournemouth interview, you couldn't hear the journalists questions properly, but, could quite clearly hear Dyche's ridiculous answers. Was this just inept sound production or an attempt to make the questioning seem less critical of Dyche?

Thats probably from the classic Dyche coughing up some flem that muffled the reporters inquiries along with the fact he seemed more bewildered and meandering then usual
